Small follicles on Clomid?

Hi

I wonder if anyone can shed a bit of light on this for me....I had a Hycosy procedure done on thursday last week (CD14) my tubes are both ok and not blocked, however the sonographer said that the follicles on both my ovaries were small for Day 14.

I have since had +OPKs on days 16, 17 (as last month). I am taking clomid and am unsure as to whether it is working for me properly - can you ovulate when you have small follicles? I was under the impression this was not the case? If so why the LH surge on OPKS? So confusing....

I suffer with PCOS and have been TTC for 13 months now. This is my 3rd round of clomid.

Any info would be much appreciated.

your follocles must get to a certain mature size for you to Ov, they could have still grown from day 14 but im not sure!! good luck though!!

I have also been on clomid and my experience has been similar. I typically ov around day 17, 18 but I always get my ultrasounds starting day 14. I then go back every 2 days so they can follow the progression. My right ovary always has a follicle of atleast 14mm by day 14 but my left ovary is always less - more like 10 or 12mm. They should grow 1-2 mm each day so the hope is that by the time you ovulate it will be big enough to release. If it does not get big enough I am under the impression you do not truly ov. I have done some research on "how to get bigger follicles" and I have found that many people swear by Bee Pollen and royal jelly. I started taking it right after I ov last cycle and I will not go to the dr for my CD 14 ultrasound until this Friday. They say it could take up to 3 months to do anything to your cycle but I figured it was worth a try at this point. I cannot wait to see if it did anything this month. I am also taking 200mg of clomid and this is my last month on it. If this doesnt work my Dr wants me to start injections, so I am really hoping this cycle brings a BIG follicle and a Keep me updated! I will let you know if the Bee pollen and RJ possibly did anything!
