My sense of smell is driving me insane again. I keep smelling cat pee, but we don't have a cat. It's really a strong smell to me. I read amniotic fluid can smell of ammonia but I don't think I'm leaking at all. The cat pee smell is sort of in the air. Anyone else experienced this? :flower:

It might sound daft, but have you got any trainers around that have got wet, then dried?,I find that with our trainers all the time, they get wet in the rain, dry out and then stink just like a cat peed in them!!

Aw bless you, that can't be nice. I have a cat and i know how much her pee smells! I hope you find the source of the smell soon :(

I know exactly how you feel - I've been smelling poo on and off throughout being pregnant... We do have cats but I've searched and searched and not found a poo. I also smell it in the car and at people's houses, at work etc. I think it is something that sometimes happens when you're pregnant :(

There was a thread on this a while back-I smell fresh cigarettes but know no smokers....it can happen in pregnancy-I forget the name of it but basically you smell things that aren't there (the same thing)...I had been thinking I was going mad....I noticed on the previous thread it was often unpleasant smells that everyone was smelling.......anyway apparently there's. Few of us pregnant lie that imagine smells.

Could it be a phantom smell? I get phantom smells all the time, and for some wonderful reason it's always the smell of dog poop or dog pee! It's usually very strong and I swear I really smell it, but my husband never does and it usually goes away after a while. Bleh! Why can't my phantom smells be of flowers or cookies or something?! :haha:

I woke up this morning smelling cat pee. I smell it on my hands and we don't have cats or dogs. It's really making me nauseous. I did cut onions last night but have washed my hands a gazillion times but I do suppose I could be smelling onion on my hands. Either way, it smells like cat pee.

Thanks, yes I think it is a phantom smell, glad to know I'm not alone even though it's not nice for us smelling these weird smells. DH can't smell anything, even though I'm insisting the smell is there. Wish we could experience lovely smells! :flower:

Wouldn't it be sooo nice if we could have oh's feel and experience what we do just for 12 hours? I think they would think differently about this whole thing when they roll eyes at us for being too sensitive or when we insist something is there.

Oh yes!! How fab would that be! I'd say for longer than 12 hours but can you imagine the moaning we'd have to put up with!! :haha:
