I'm so annoyed right now, i don't want to sound stuck up but how can my mum and dad expect me to bring Jayden to visit when they think its perfectly fine to smoke around a 2 week old

i think the best thing is to tell them if they want to smoke they can but if they want to see Jayden they'll have to come round mine to see him i probably sound overdramatic or something but it just got me upset x

Aww hun I know just how you feel!

We don't take Evie to FIL's as him and his wife smoke LOADS!

I'm probably the worst ex smoker ever but I can't stand it bleugh!

We can't tell them what to do in their own home so we ask them to come to us to see Evie but they never bother but that's a different story which pisses me off!!

Have you asked them to come to you to see LO? You can also say it's just easier for you and LO that way

Your dad sounds like my FIL!!!

That's another excuse of his why he doesn't come round cos he can't drink. He gets really drunk most days which is up to him but he can go and jump if he thinks I'm taking my child round to see a drunk person

Don't feel bad Hun your not there now and your LO will be fine

Oh my god. Smoking around a 2 week old is disgusting. I'm a smoker, but when Isaac was that age I'd only smoke when he was asleep and I'd change my clothes and wash my hands afterwards and make sure not to hold him for at least half an hour afterwards. I'm a lot more relaxed about smoking now that one is older. I will smoke around him, but I make sure he can't inhale the smoke. But yeah, I can't imagine anyone thinking it's ok to smoke in front of a 2 week old. It's shocking!

Totally agree, smoking is vile in general but how people think that we will be ok with bringing our children near it is crazy. I wouldn't go personally. I refuse to go to my MIL's now.

Surely you guys are talking about people smoking INDOORS, not just in general?

If you mean that you would never take your wee baby somewhere, where people smoke indoors - cool, I get that and neither would I.

I'm a smoker, but I have never smoked indoors. Ever. And I won't either, because I think the habit is disgusting. I always smoke outside, even though people seem to think I'm crazy for doing so (what the hell is that about?). I come from a culture, where everyone smokes outside - didn't know a single smoker, who'd do it indoors until I moved over here. I also don't smoke around my child, smokes will get left back when we go out. I only smoke when she is not around. And I do think that's okay.

I dont think so, but luckily none of my close friends or family smoke so its very easy to avoid

I have lot's of family and friends who smoke but they all smoke outside.

They always wash their hands before touching or holding him.

I mean someone who smokes indoors but even outside smokers i dont let hold or go near River for a good half an hour. Its just a horrible smell and no way do i want my baby to reek of smoke.

Tbh i have the exact same veiw as you guys even though i smoke,but i dont smoke anywhere near her. I feel like such a hypocrite tbh. Ahh i wish i could quit but my moods are horrendous when i have x
