Hey there. 
I have never been on birth control, but I know women who have gotten pregnant right away after having it taken out. I think that if you are pregnant, it would be really soon to be feeling symptoms like that, but hey, every woman is different! 
I don't think it necessarily means you didn't conceive this cycle, it could still be too early. I'd wait a couple of days and test again. What brand of test are you using, is it a sensitive one?

Based on you DTD on sept 21, sperm lasting about 4 days, then 2 weeks past O, the latest you should get your period is around Oct 9th. This is just an estimate. But you are right, it could be just your hormones. I remember that the month I did get my BFP, I had less symptoms than the months that I did not get a BFP.
