I've literally been counting down the days for the last 3-4 weeks to my sub fertility clinic appointment, which was meant to be this monday coming (5th july) I was saying how well the NHS had treated me etc... I've just got hom from work and found a letter saying my appointment is on the 2nd of September?? - phoned the helpline and apparently the clinic I had booked the appointment with isn't running anymore or something??? wtf? I only booked it 3 weeks ago why did they let me book it? and apparently the next appointment isn't for 2 months... I don't think this has sunk in yet but I'm outraged..
I'm literally losing a day's wages for this as well? I've booked the day off and I don't get paid holiday...? I don't know what to do... :-/

This might sound silly but Gail & Jenny Renny said I would get my bfp in September and I had really been holding on for then but now that seems impossible, Gail said conception would be mid-late august and that's not gonna happen now is it

it's not that 2 months is a ridiculous waiting time, it's more that I'm so dissapointed, they should have told me weeks ago my appointment was going to be cancelled and they didn't even tell me at all

the hospitals are so shite. I think nhs guidelines are that you are seen within 13 weeks of referral. You could try ringing every couple of days to check for cancellations? X

I agree, just get on their cases, its so unfair, every time i go they supply me with meds for a couple of months then give me app for 4 months time??? and to top it off every single time i have recieved a letter shortly before my date to say my app has been moved bk, usuall 2 months. I completely understand how you feel, x

I know exactly how you feel hun! I previously had my lap & dye booked for the 7th may (i booked it in feb and that was the earliest they had) and about 3 weeks before i got a letter saying it had been cancelled without giving me a real reason and had been re-arranged for the 2nd July (today). So anyway I got back from my holiday on the 11th June and i had another letter saying they had cancelled it again and would now be on the 28 august!! I went absolutely ballistic at them and told them it was completely unacceptable to mess with peoples live like this. In the end they managed to get me in on the 5th July (monday). I really hate the NHS with a passion! They feel like they're doing you a favour because we aren't directly paying for it but we are through our taxes and it just really annoys me!!

Anyway the point of my story is that you can't let them just get away with it. You've got to kick up a fuss and demand they do something sooner!

I guess I just have to get over it and focus on something else for the time being, maybe try not to think about it. I don't think I can have children without medication so I don't think there's a chance of me getting pregnant for at least 2 - 3 more months now .. at the very least.. don't think there's anything else I can do .. is there? (pcos)

I may try and get a cancellation I only live down the road from the hospital so I could be there in 10 mins lol x

Sorry to hear this... I got so fed up with the nhs that I ended up going private as you know.
Hopefully once you've finally had your appointment things will move quite quickly after that

I am due to have a lap and dye and have been on the waiting list about a month now....just had my pre-op appointment but no date for surgery yet? How soon after did you get your appointment??? I know its only been a month but like you don't want to be messed around as we know what the NHS is like!!! Should i ring them up to book it...i was kind just waiting for the date to come through the post! x
