So, the title is pretty self explanatory!! After my dating scan on the 19th put us back 2wks, the thought of waiting 8-10wks for the anomaly scan on the NHS was awful!!! We are really desperate to find out what we are having also! Not a biggy agreed, we are neither way on which sex baba is, but we have agreed to not start buying things until we know! So... after looking at all private scan centres in my area (NW London), we came across Babybond, who are also very reasonably priced amongst their competitors (£79 for the gender scan, well being check and b/w pictures to take home)!! Anyway, we have booked at the earliest possible time - sunday 25th april - which will make me 16+1, and I am just sooooo excited!! Can't wait to start buying clothes, make a definate decision on the pram etc!! x

Fabulous, I went to Babybond in Maidstone before and they were absolutely lovely! Will be going back in 2 weeks to check this LO is ok xx

Oh good, I'm glad u had an enjoyable experience! I hear so many good things about private scans, so that, and the wait, has just made us do it! At our dating scan the sonographer was lovely, but it did feel quite impersonal and only lasted for around 10mins, I didn't get to see the screen much and we were only allowed 2 free pics, wasn't able to purchase additional for family etc :nope: but it's understandable on the NHS I guess as they do that job day in and day out, it may be hard to personalise it for every different woman who walks in the door every 20-30mins! x

Wow I live in North London also! (Finchley). Whereabouts is the place you are going to for the private scan? I am finding it quite annoying on the NHS...I have had three scans already for emergency reasons, but if it wasn't for the fact I thought I was having a m/c i'd still be waiting for my first, plus like you I barely got a glance at the screen!
I got the impression that the NHS are a bit funny about telling you the sex...t Barnet general they only recently changed their "no revealing the sex" policy. I'm not sure why they wouldn't say before...
