...and I loved it! Our community midwife is so lovely and made the class fun and interesting. Sadly my OH couldnt go as the class didnt finish until 9pm and he was up for work at 3.30am this morning but he is going next week. I would totally recommend going you learn an awful lot of stuff. She split us up into mums and dads and got us to make a list of stuff to talk about, then men had the EXACT same list as us in the same order!!! Someone must have been earwigging!!
She had a baby doll and she was treating it like a little baby, without even realising it most of the time! She gave us loads of information to read at home about labour and what to expect, what to pack in our hospital bag and a fun sheet on the guide to parenting which is very funny. I am looking forward to it next week and my OH is coming with me so he can learn what he needs to.

She used the baby and a pelvis to show how its born and at the end she said and then the most special thing happens, you meet your baby. I swear I nearly burst into tears!! God knows what I will be like when it comes to it!

The only bad thing was it didnt finish until 9pm and thats when I am normally in bed! They gave us a little questionnaire on how to improve the classes so I added a day class would be better.

glad you enjoyed it hun theres one on sat where i live but im a bit nervous cause im on my own and i will probably feel left out or like the odd one !!!

ahh thats good that it went well, we've got our first one next week and definitely looking forward to it

There were a few other people on thier own so I didnt feel so lonely and I am normally a shy person when it comes to meeting people!

I have my first one tonight, DH is coming with me but I'm still abit anxious! And its late 730-930pm, I'll be asleep :haha:

We've got our first one tonight as well...don't know who's more nervous, me or DH:haha:

Ours is at 6:30 - 8. Trouble is, by the time that we get home from work, we'll have to get ready to go out so won't be able to have tea until we get back!!! So, i'm currently eating pretzels because I'll be too hungry to concentrate otherwise :haha:

Hope yours goes well tonight angelpuss.....do u think the other ladies going are also as nervous as us?!?! :haha:

How was yours angelpuss? Been meaning to ask but couldn't find the thread!!

Becci let us know what your second class involves so I know what to expect as my class pretty much sounded the same as yours :)

Glad you enjoyed it hun! Unfortunetly, here they don`t do classe`s like that, total bummer!xx

i go to my birthing class Oct 9th :) i'll be around 36 weeks. so i'll be huge and waddling. hehe. but my birthing class is an all day thing. 9am-5pm. i'll be starving and sleepy! but it's on a saturday and it's the only available one i could go to where my sister in law could go too. my OH can't go cause he'll be out of town for work :(

My next one is wednesday so I will let you know how it goes. x

I really enjoyed it Claire...especially the looks on all the mens faces when the midwife was going through the stages of labour!!!!

It was quite good doing about what should be in hospital bags for baby, mum and dad. I've read that much on here that we got virtually everything!!!

:haha: yes I had lots of hospital bag ideas, I've got all the stuff. I just need to pack it! Let me know how the future ones go? How many do u have in total?

Yay Becci, give me a heads up ;)
