I ended up in A & E last night at 11pm because the pains I was having in my kidney got a lot worse and that's the advice my doctor gave me. For those who don't know, I'm on antibiotics for a suspected kidney infection, but although my test results were back in my doctors surgery Friday they couldn't tell me what they were cos a doctor hadn't looked at them
So I waited an hour (which isn't that bad cos the board said average waiting time 4 hours!!!) and I was given my own room to sit in and they took blood and a urine sample and came back with some pain killers for me. The doctor then told me that my infection cells (or something) were slightly high, but nothing really to worry about, so I should continue taking my antiboitics, but as I was still in pain she called for a surgeon to come and look at me, which absolutely terrified me! He was only checking I didn't have appendicitis, which they estblished I don't! But I am being sent for an ultrasound on my right kidney because he thinks I could have kidney stones but if I do they can't be treated until baby is born, which means I could be in this pain for another 4 months before they can do anything about it ...
But at least the doctors I saw last night were a bit more proactive than the ones at my own surgery and they were all really friendly which did make me feel better, even though I only got back at like 2am and my boyfriend has recently left for work (5:30am) for his 12 and 1/2 hour shift even though he was in A & E with me the whole time
Sorry that was so long, but I can't sleep til these pain killers kick in and I was wondering if anyone else has had kidney stones when pregnant and if you could give me any advice
