at what age are u starting ur little on solids?

I started my son with a teaspoon of fruit puree once a day when he was 4months and 3 weeks old.He is just over 6 months now and has 3 teaspoons twice a day plus fingerfoods.

We started a small amount of banana at 21 weeks as per pediatrician recommendation for reflux. That was solids to assist a medical condition - not weaning. We started true weaning one week ago (23 weeks) as he was consuming 50+oz of milk per day at almost 21lbs.

6 months. We went through a 50oz a day phase also Aliss, it was expensive, but luckily for us it didn't go on for long...

Can I ask how long it lasted? Mine has been doing this for several weeks and TBH the weaning as not changed anything, he still consumes the same!

Just over a month I think. Between 3.5 and 5 months. We were told it was ok for her to have that much. (I think there is actually a lot of evidence to suggest solids make no difference because first weaning foods are typically very low calorie anyway, someone posted an interesting article a while back but I can't remember who! Might have been mommyof3co)

Thanks! I will show this to OH - he is very keen on getting him on solid (and the doctor has convinced him too) but at the same time, it's not making a difference anyways. SIGH lol

6 months, I want to do BLW so no purees, so I think she needs to be able to sit up unassisted. She's going to love it she already tries to eat my food!

Whenever she's ready. She stole some of a baked potato off my fork yesterday, but still isn't interested in eating anything I offer her :flower:

We started BLW at 6 months and it was pretty slow to be honest, but now she is quite a gannet and in the last 3 days has started chewing harder foods. Previously she was just swallowing the softer stuff, sucking harder stuff and spitting out. She is 7 months on Sat.

I started Jessica at 16 weeks but she wasnt ready so left it 3 weeks and there was a massive difference. Shes now 20 weeks and is having about 4 ice cube tray size portions a day

we want to do BLW so we are waiting til he is 6 months.

I wanted to wait till 6 months for proper solids and start Eva on semi solids ie baby rice at 5 months but for the last week she's been waking in the night again for feeds and wanting more closer together so I may try introducing baby rice in the next few weeks and she is 4 months
