Has anyone else had this?

I had a lot of water retention when I was pregnant and had really sore joints, knees, ankles etc. Most of the pain went away a few months after having LO, except the pain in my ankles.

I constantly feel like I've been on my feet all day. I have actually in most cases, but I feel this way first thing in the morning too so I know its not right. Its getting to the point now that I'm just sick of being in pain all the time, and I want to start running again soon so I just hope I can! I try to stretch my feet and the bones actually crack.

9 months now this has been going on and it hasn't gone away. I'm now just worried that it would get worse with LO #2 and I could get arthritis or something?

I get this all the time. I dread getting up in the morning, my ankles feel like they are sprained and are so tender when walking. I also had really bad water retention but had no joint pain till after I gave birth. I thought it was normal and would go away but like you I'm still waiting

I had barely any water retention...i dont think lol. But my ankles are so painful! At first it was just my ankles, and now its working its way up to my knees and hips. its not so bad if ive been up for a bit and walking i just forget about it, but if i gert up from sitting or whatever, they hurt sooo bad I can barely walk, and I limp around. It gets so bad i wont leave my house because i would have to carry LO up a flight of stairs and i am scared to

Wow so it's not just me! I have to lie on the sofa with my feet in the air, trying to stretch them out as much as possible. May try to make a doctors appointment this week. I don't know if they would prescribe physio or something lol :)

Yep and my heels - when I get up in the night I hobble. It's ridiculous. I'm going to see a podiatrist and muscularskeletal specialist next weeks because it's scary! Even if I sit down for longer than half an hour they seize up.

will report back on what he says afterwards.

Xx

I'm the same. I also had lots of water retention when I was pregnant. Until now my ankles get swollen after a long walk. I cant even wear high heels anymore.

I can't wear heels either - let's face it I'm in enough pain in flats! I've got a wardrobe of beautiful shoes just sitting there. Shoes are my "thing" and I hate that I can't wear them. :(

I have this and I hadn't even made the connection with water retention when pregnant - I had loads!
I feel like my ankles don't actually work properly when I stand up and start walking - its like my feet have no give in them. And I get burning pain on and off in both ankles.

Buffy71, please report back so we know what the doctor says about your pain.
