I think it is interesting to hear the answer to this question.

I don't mind my name, Sara, though I find it a bit plain, and I grew up with a plethora of Sara/Sarah's in my classes and as acquaintances. I found it annoying, and eventually chose to go by a nickname, not that I hated my name, but because it was easier to distinguish my name from others. I often heard/hear other people addressed as Sarah, and can hear the H being pronounced. I think that it would have annoyed me more to have an H. My middle name is Elaine, and it is the name we have passed down so far. It is my mother's, my sister's, my DD's and my own middle name. I kind of like that aspect of it, though I'm not too sure how I feel about the name itself. I always wished that I had been given a fancier name. I loved Guinevere and Elisabeth, names that seemed to have an aura of grace and power behind them. I often think of these things when trying to decide the name for our baby.

How do you feel about your name?

i love my name!! :D

My mum picked it when she was 11 years old from a book called 101 weird baby names which would have been back in the 70's. I was born when she was 21 years old. Most people love my name too- its greek (we're not greek) & means dear one or beloved (depending on the baby book you read)

I've had people say or ask cLarissa? there seams to be lots of those around. My friends little sister who was 2 or 3 when i was 12 or 13 couldnt say Carissa so called me Riss which has been my nickname ever since (hence why i write my name as caRISSa) :) I have heard many versions of Carissa or that sound like it- Clarissa, Corissa, Orissa, Marissa etc.....

I plan on giving my daughter (if/ when i have one) my name as her middle name to keep it in the family & hope she will follow on the tradition. My middle name is Lee- Anne- my mum had no reason for that name it just went well with Carissa.

Cool topic.

My name is Naima, I always get people that don't remember my name, don't know how to spell my name, ask me where it's from etc etc.
That get's a bit old when youre in school and stuff.
But now as I'm older I learned to like it because it's so uncommon.

My name is Lauren, and I think it's one of the most boring names on the planet. Especially since my name is one of the most popular names from the 80s (i was born in 1991). So, of course, I grew up with tons of other Laurens. There were 4 just in my class. So i decided to go by Lo, but then another Lauren in my class, who happened to be more popular, starting going by Lo. So now, at school, I go by my middle name which I LOVE, LaRee. It was my great-grandmother's name. It's unique and nobody can say it correctly. :) I'm thinking that if I have a second daughter, LaRee will be her middle name.

my name is Shanah.. means beautiful in Hebrew.. Not that we have middle east background

I am not fond of my name either....it's Nicole Marie...very common from the 80's..I was born in 83.

I think it's pretty rare for people to actually like their own names...we always think of what we would like our name to be instead.

My daughters name is Alexis Jaden...no real pupose to either name, we just thought they went together well. I like it, but I am sure at some point she'll hate what we named her as well...lol!

I have always loved my name. Rebecca is very classic. I go by Becca most of the time. I do not like to be called Becky!

I almost named my daughter Lauren, but chose Cassandra instead because I thought it was more unusual. Imagine my horror when I took her to her first Dr visit and there were 5 other Cassandra's in the waiting room! It turned out to be a very popular name that year. I still love her name though :)

my name is Keegan....its a boy name but I like it :p my daughter has an odd name too, her name is Mollymaia

My name is Crystal, which seems to be an extremely popular name (at least it was when I was in high school!). My grandmother named me, she thought the name was beautiful for a little girl. I think it's so-so.

My name is Chelsea which I love. Though there's more Chelsea's these days, it was uncommon when I was growing up. My middle name is Leigh...it's okay, never felt strongly one way or the other about it.

My name is Joanne and I am not that fussed about it... i don't really care for it either way. I get called Jo by most of my friends and work colleagues but most of the time growing up I got Joanna or Jan or Joan... not sure why as Joanne is not difficult.

born in 1978 and had the name Alyssa.. no one had that name except Alyssa Milano. I loved my name. still do.

my name is Hayley. i cant complain, i dont think its the greatest name, but its definately not hugely popular - not sure about these days lol. only problem that gives me the shits is having to spell it out to people constantly because they either spell it haley or some other version involving ie's.

I love my name... I'm Amy and although my name was popular I never had any problems :)

I LOVE my name! However, I hate that everyone calls me something different!

What people call me, is Linda, because it's easier for them to remember! not like my name is really all that hard!
My real name is Lindita

I love my name NOW, absolutely hated it all the time i was growing up, got teased mercilessly at school for it.

Now it's coming into fashion and i see and hear loads of mums in the supermarket calling out Scarlett and i turn round everytime. I'm not used to there being more than 1 of me!!

My name's pretty okay, as far as I'm concerned. My parents called me Lotte, the short version of my name, until I was seven, which was when I decided Liselotte, my full name suited me better. I've only ever met one other person with that name, and I like it that way.

don't cross the border to belgium bc you'll meet quite a few then ;)

my name is Kim, handy name they can't tease you with.
didn't exactly like it when i was little bc everyone else had a longer name than me,
but that was easily solved, ppl just made it longer (kimi, kimmeke,...) and all was fine.
now i do like it

I love my name! Even though its quite popular in the states I only know of 2 here (well and one "famous" one) and they were after leaving school. In school I was the only Tara and it was so much better that way

I love my name - Vanessa Claire - my parents wanted to call me something that nobody else was called, and they succeeded!

They're not too happy about the fact that 90% of people I know, including friends, family, bosses and clients call me Vee...
