Hi guys.

I've had a late miscarriage at 19 weeks over Christmas. So I'm ready to try again. OH and I have DTD, around when I thought I ovulated, but not 100% sure and wouldn't mind sitting this cycle out to be honest. However, I stopped bleeding 2 weeks after my miscarriage, then had a week off. I then had 3 days spotting, it then stopped for 2 days and now back again. Just wondering if on/off spotting is normal as I'd really just like AF to start if she's trying to come.

Have you had an exam? Is a doctor monitoring your hcg? It's possible that you haven't yet passed all of the tissue from your MC. Retained product can cause intermittent spotting for extended periods of time.

Me too! Kinda same time frame. But I only seem to spot now after my long runs. Not sure what's up with that. Left my midwife a page cause I kinda want to ask her.

FYI. I talked to my midwife. My spotting is normally coming after alot of increased physical activity (18KM runs). So she said that increased activity can cause it. so can sex. Also can just be after miscarriage that things are more sensitive and just spot. But to watch for signs of fever, smell, and heavy bleeding. Intermittent spotting can happen for up to 2 cycles after a miscarriage. If you're worried ask your DR for an ultrasound.

As long as its all normal. Touch wood its stopped again and hopefully will stay away until AF shows.

Good luck to you! I hope that's it with the spotting! For me I'll find out sunday after my long run!!

While I don't have too much info on this, and I hope this isn't the info yiu *dont want* to hear, I have read that you need to go 3 weeks without any bleeding or spotting in order for it not to be related to mc. 3+ weeks and it's likely to be related to a for your body adjusting. But if it's within those 3 weeks it's likely still your body cleaning out and getting back to normal

I really hope that news doesn't upset you or make you anxious. I just wanted to share what I've read.

I'm not so sure on that as I suspect bleeding after birth would be the same. I had my period 4 weeks after I gave birth to my son with only 2 weeks break in between. But you can also get ovulation bleeding, pcos bleeding, implantation bleeding, retained product etc, so I think for many it will just remain a mystery.

There are so many things that can be normal after a miscarriage it's really hard to say. You can return to a normal cycle. You can spot for months. You can have a prolonged cycle. You can be normal af and everything cleaned out after miscarriage, or maybe have a heavier period next time. Normal. Spot normal. Don't spot. Normal. As irritating as all that is lol.

FX for you! I'm also hoping for a normal cycle this time around. Even if there's some spotting. My temps indicate I did ovulate and should have AF in about 10 days!
