Stabbing pains in cervix/vagina!?

Hi ladies,
I have been having lower back ache, period type cramps which are quite painful, a lot of tightenings for the last couple of hours (had these a couple of days ago too and thought maybe a false labour) and in the last 10 minutes or so I've had two or three sharp stabbing pains down below that literally make me double over in pain! They only last a few seconds and then subside.
Anyone had this? What is it? Did anyone else's labour start this way or do you think it's just false labour again?

Certainly can't hurt to call and ask your doctor hun... better to find out sooner than later. Sounds like the start of something to me... but I'm no expert

I had this the other night (only one episode though). The stabbing pains i get now and again, same with the cramping (which is getting more frequent). m/w said i should only be concerned if they get regular so id give them a ring if i was you!
She told me to rest and take it easy as the night i had this, id been very busy the same day and over did it a little too much!

i had those pains before i get them sometimes my doctor said its from the babies head pushing down since he's already positioned head down, maybe it could be the same for you
