Started Charting Temps

We started trying to get pregnant a year ago after I had my IUD removed. I've never been regular but all my cycles have been really long (34-56 days) since then. It took us 9 months to get pregnant the first time but I miscarried around 6 weeks. Since then, I have started charting my BBT. According to my last chart, my luteal phase was 24 days long! I'm pretty sure I didn't ovulate that cycle because my period was really light but could that be why my cycles are so long? Am I not ovulating and that's why they are so long? But then the cycle I actually got pregnant I had to have O'd on day 55. Has any one else experience this?
