I'm a planner so it is not wonder I have stared to look into exactly what we are going to buy for our second child even though it is too soon to be thinking about it. Well here is my current plan for the basic stash and I was wondering if it sounds okay? It is purely practical to start with and the cute things will come later. Is there any thing I really need to add or have not got enough of on my plan?

30 x Terry squares
6 x Wraps (different brands)
3 x Nappi Nippas
3 x Bambino Mio boosters
15-30 x Flannel wipes

Basically this is our basic starting point. We want to try and buy packs of 5at a time in pockets and AIO systems (currently looking at Totsbots easyfits, Pop-in new generation and Bum Genius free-time and maybe a 10 pack of baba and boo's) as we go along in the pregnancy as and when we can afford them. However there is also the chance we might not start buying the more expensive nappies until we know we will stick with them and the baby is out of the newborn size.

I haven't used the Mio Boosters but from looking at them online I wouldn't bother. If you're buying microfibre to speed up absorption, you probably won't need that for a young baby. It's older babies that do big wees quickly where you might need that really. If you want them to help nappies last longer, I wouldn't bother with microfibre, you'd be better sticking with natural fibres. You could either buy a few bamboo terries or my preferred option would be a pack of bamboo boostes like the S2 Little Lamb bamboo boosters.

Other than that it looks great.

I wouldn't buy packs of five of other types of nappy, I'd only buy one or maybe two at a time, but probably one! That's enough to see if they're worth buying more. If you buy 5 and then find you don't like them, you will never get all of your money back - I think you'd lose more than you'd lose by only buying one and then having to buy more if you like them (so not getting quite the same discount as for five, or spending on postage twice).

I would possibly also look at getting a few fitted nappies just for those "ARGH WHY WON'T THIS BABY LIE STILL?" moments!!!

Thank you. I am hoping to get some small pocket nappies for nights or maybe fitted ones for the wraps. I want something a little easier on a night in an ideal world because we only ever managed to use cloth in the day with DS.

I'd not use pockets for nights I don't think, they're probably one of the least likely options to work overnight. Fitteds would be a good choice though :)
