Hi everyone,, thanks for looking at this thread. So... 3 years ago hubby and I married. 6 months later had our first round of Ivf which all went really smooth. When on the final evening of my injections I took my stimulation ovetrelle I think it was called... Next thing I new I was in bed with 4 paramedics in my room all I could hear was the dog barking in other room... Turned out I had a seizure.. This was a surprise as have never suffered anything like this before... I was due for egg collection 2 days after this at Nuffield however was told I could not be sedated due to seizure. I would ovulate as normal and loose all the follicles... Day 4 I then had OHsS.. I was told I was extremely lucky my ovarie had not burst. . . Anyways. Long story short... I continued from then to have seizures which then resulted in them becoming life threatening.. I was then diagnosed with a brain tumour. Had surgery to have this removed last February.. I am now almost off all my meds and seizure free now. Want to start our ivf again this year by July hopefully. Just need someone to chat to really. Thanks. Xx

Im so sorry to hear all this happened.....how scary! Im happy to read that you are seizure free and despite such a scary experience will try IVF again. I've done 4 fresh cycles and 3 frozen cycles. One frozen was sucessful two years ago and im currently in limbo with my dec FET...i say limbo because i have ultrasound in a week to see if there is hb as my clinic only does 2 betas and two sonos. I currently was told that i have swollen nerves in my eye and need to see a specialist to find out whats causing pressure to my brain.
Anyway wanted to say hello

That's sounds so scary hun do they know what's wrong with your eyes. I was worried after the seizure and was completely convincedt it was the ivf hormones etc but then they found my tumour. So worried this time round. That's great news hun I will keep everything crossed for you. What age is your other wee one xx

Okay so dr wants to see me after I deliver as he's thinking my symptoms are due to the medications and pregnancy. He said that I should be on the lookout for severe headaches or swooshing noises. Feeling relieved to say the least!
So are you feeling comfortable with your dr and the ivf protocol that you will be on? Are you planning on a fresh cycle?

Hi ladies :flower:

mummy- Wow, what a terrifying thing to happen! I'm so sorry you had to go through that but glad everything seems to be good now. I'll be starting my first IVF treatment in February & I'm nervous too!

Lucinda- Congrats on your BFP & good luck with your ultrasound! :) If you don't mind me asking, which doctor told you to wait until after delivery to follow up with your eye issue? Did that come from a neuro OPT or your OBGYN? Only asking because my DH worked in the eye care field for years and if your optic nerves are swollen that's definitely something you should get checked out ASAP.

scooby that was the neuro opt that said this;he said everything looks fine for now....maybe ssome calcium deposits...at least that is what it appears to be.
Im originally from NY...moved 2 yrs ago...what practice will you be cycling with in Feb?

I start in 5 days. Eeeeeks. Kind of nervous but more excited than nervous!

Lucinda- Oh good, then you're in good hands :) I'm glad it wasn't anything serious! I'll be at Montefiore. I really like them so far, they seem very thorough. Where in NY did you live?

secret- Wow that will be here before you know it! Are they starting you on BCP first or are you just jumping right in with meds?

I have been on bcp for a while now, 30 days or so. I am just eager to et started but trying to keep the one day at a time mind set. Deep breath.

ssecret 5 days is really soon; so transfer would be in like 2 wks?
scooby i actually made an apt at Montefiore (their White Plains, NY location) after my failed cycle with RMA and New Hope, but canceled and went with Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine.
I was born and raised in Manhattan, but the last 5 yrs i was there i lived in Westchester County.

Well it's 4 days now! Excited!!!! I don't know how long I am going to have to stim for. Hopefully not long. Last time I was on letrozole I made 4 eggs so hopefully these mega drugs move it along quickly

Ssecret 4 days is even better.......fingers crossed for a good response.

Hey

You may find that the tumour was already there but the hormones in the IVF drugs have advanced it hence why the seizure after them.
Glad to see you are tumour and seizure free now.

Can I ask are you private funding at Nuffield? Will you be returning to Nuffield?

Goodluck with your new cycle of IVF xx

secret- Wow, 30 days seems long to be on BCP! My RE said I'd be on for 1-2 weeks depending on how I respond. This is my first IVF try so it's all new to me :) I hope the next four days will fly by for you!

Lucinda- Haha, small world! I live in Westchester now too :)

Yes it does seem long. When I questioned them about it they said 33 days was their max and I could break it up if I wanted. I took about 7 days off and then started again. Monday is baseline us & bw. Pretty excited over here!!

Hey hun yeah I do think that myself. Not going to stop worrying until that stimulation 💉. Is over with :growlmad: It was with Glasgow royal infirmary but their clinic was closed at the time so it was through Nuffield but it was NHS. What's your story hun. Xx

Hi everyone sorry I haven't been in touch. . . Hope all getting on OK. Any news or anything been happening xx
