Hi Girls,

I have not been on here for a good while but as some of you know, I am pregnant following an MMC and ectopic last year.

My last scan was at 12 weeks +5 and everything was fine. I had gastruentritis at 14 weeks and the hospital found the heartbeat with the dopplar then. I am now 16 weeks and 3 days with my next midwife appointment on Wednesday of this week (18th).

I am starting to get very nervous and I am finding it difficult to try and think everything is ok. I have done so weel up to now but I am worried that on Wednesday it will be bad news, i.e. they cannot find heartbeat etc.

My main concern is that since about 13 weeks my boobs barely hurt any more, nor have they grown any bigger. I have a bump but again this does not appear to have increased in size in the last few weeks.

I have not yet felt the baby move, I know this can be normal as I have never yet had a sucessful pregnancy but I am so worried.

I would like to be able to enjoy my pregnancy and start looking at baby shopping and names etc but I am convinced if I do I will find out it has gone wrong again. :(

I am sorry to be so negative but it is really getting me down, to the point I dont actually do much for me any more like seeing friends etc.

Thank you for listening

Ectopic 6 weeks July 2011

Hi, Im sorry that your so anxious. I know exactly how it feels. Ive had two miscarriages myself last year and newly pregnant again. I seen the heartbeat on Thursday at 6 weeks but still I worry that it wont be there in two weeks time at my next scan.
Im sure you have nothing to worry about but its completely understandable how you feel, especially not wanting to socialise etc, and get your hopes up for baby shopping.
Its great that you've got this far and Im sure your mind will be put at ease with your scan. Its ashame what it does to you after you experience miscarriages, you just cant relax and enjoy pregnancy the same as others get to. You probably wont relax until you have that baby in your arms xx

Lishmin- I know how hard it is to stay positive... sometimes it feels impossible. One point of reassurance I can give you... Your breasts have probably stopped hurting because your hcg has plateaued and is slowing on the decline. This is normal! It reaches it's highest level between 9 and 12 weeks and then gradually goes down. That's why symptoms like morning sickness tend to retreat after the first trimester. You could also consider getting a fetal doppler to reassure you. There's one I think called Angel Sounds (or something along these lines) which you can order off Amazon for about 30 pounds. I know a lot of expectant moms who swear by it .

I am sorry for your losses... Sounds like you are right on track, though! The 2nd trimester is a dream. For most (if you're lucky), the morning sickness and 1st trimester pains go away. Soon you will start to feel the baby. Congratulations on making it is far! You are over the hump - wishing you a great 2nd trimester!

sorry about your losses.
Please try not to worry. Bumps do not grow that quickly, and honestly if you have been sick, then your body will need some time to build back some of the extra padding, it will have been giving all the good stuff to your bubs. My boobs didn't hurt as much in the second tri, and you are certainly very early for feeling any movement. This is my first successful pregnancy after 5 losses and my doctor told me I was very early to feel some movement at 17 weeks. Depending on where your placenta is you might not feel him/her until in the 20's.
Please try not to stress, I know its so hard to believe it might finally be going right, but I believe your little one is perfectly well in there, just waiting to say hi on Wednesday to you!

Thinking of you, and hoping Wednesday come soon xx
