I have an Aiden too :)

I don't know if bf prolongs it, I bf too and bled for 5 weeks after - and although I mostly stopped after that I still bled occasionally when I did too much. From what I read, as long as its light and you aren't getting clots, then you don't need to worry about it.

I have stopped and started bleeding a few times now. And Dylan is going on 4 weeks old. MW said it's completely normal to stop and start a bit, just watch the bleeding doesn't intensify to a heavy type bleed. If it's just light or spotting she said that's very normal

i bled for 6 weeks with my first son.

i bled for 2 weeks with my first and then 9 weeks with my 2nd and that was a shock! And i never breastfeed. You have nothing to worry about hun, it can last a while.

I bled on and off for 6 weeks before it stopped completely.

Pretty sure 4-6 weeks is the norm.

I bled for about 5 weeks, had a weeks break, then came on my period!
It does take a while to slow down. The more you do the more it flows red as well. Which is strange.
I know breastfeeding makes your uterus contract so it could be adding to it. Not to worry though means you will get it all over and done with quicker ;)
xx

i bled for 8 weeks with my second baby. i noticed that it increased if i overdid it so i made myself rest more and it gradually stopped. i don't think you have anything to worry about.

I agree with everyone else. Sam is now 11 days old, and my bleeding had gone to light pink and much lighter until yesterday. Then it went bright red again and a little heavier. I mentioned it today to my midwife, who said it will flow red again when you walk more or you do more than you had been doing, and that if you are breastfeeding more that will make your uterus contract more and therefore speed up the bleeding. She said if you rest up for a day you should notice it fade again.

thanks everyone. think i will be properly chilling out for the next few days so that it stops quicker then! im fed up wearing pads :haha:
