Hi girlies omg what a long day! But so so so so worth it! Baby liam arrived at 5.50am on the 20th sept! He is so gorgeous! So here goes my nice birth story!

Woke at 3am on Monday morn,2contractions in ten mins, very mild, thought they would go away but they didn't so I was delighted.as I had a very quick labour with DS I was told to inform labour ward if I was gettin any kind of pains.so I rang them and they said to wait a while and see do they get more frequent or do they increase in intensity. Low and behold they got worse and were upto 3 in ten mins, so I made my way to hosp.was examined and was only 3cms at 1pm...

Was admitted and given a bed on a ward and told to mobilise...so I walked the corridors all day, and most of the night! At 11pm I was 5-6 cm and got brought to delivery suite, mw asked did I want epidural straight away but I said I'd keep walking for another while!at 3am she examined me again and I was 7cm and was completely and utterly wrecked! OH got a mattress and went for a nap once I got the epidural, I dozed on and off, the epidural only worked on my right side for the first while so I lay on my right side and got top up at 5am! Then I was examined again at 5 and was fully dilated, mw advised me to lie on left side and wait for pressure to increase seen as I wasn't in pain, said it would leave the pushing stage shorter so at 5.30 I went on my back and pushed ten times and then without me even realising it OH was saying ah ah ah and was as White as a ghost, the mw was telling me to look down and there was baby Liam half out!!!she was telling me to pant and wait for one more contraction, one last push and he was there! I had sn emergency section with DS and was absolutely petrified that something was gonna go wrong but it couldn't have went better! I had a moment when I seen the anaesthetist all in scrubs and she was telling me all the possible side effects i really got scared, but it's really not bad, she explained what I would feel at each stage and when I got a contraction she just stopped everything.I wouldnt dream of not getting one if I ever go again!!it made the birth so much more relaxing.

Liam came out at a small 7lb2 and is adjusting well to breast feeding!

To anyone who had a section for their first birth go for a vbac if you can! I was up running around 6 hrs later and am really delighted I went for it!
:hugs: best of luck to all ye left in September!

Congratulations!! Glad to hear you got the vbac you wanted. well done x
