So my morning sickness finally went away for a couple of days... But now I'm getting the worst heartburn I didn't ever know was possible. It's crippling pain. I tried taking antacids but the only thing that seems to help at all is to stand up and hope that it goes away. It took two whole hours to go earlier.

OH found me over the toilet, throwing up because of the pain with a nosebleed :dohh: I'm feeling so sorry for myself

Does anyone else have this or know how to stop it?

Sorry for the whine :haha:

Honestly the best thing to do is to talk to your doctor. I am/was in the same situation and was put on medication because it was so bad. There are times I still have to take antacids with the pills just because it wont touch it!

I do know that there are some people who say you can take baking soda mixed with water but truthfully I am not sure how safe that is.

I'm with you! Its making me so sick and so sad. I haven't felt well in 13 weeks! I need to feel better now. I'm taking omneprazole but it's not doing much xx

I had this last pregnancy it was the most awful thing ever. I would be up in the night throwing up because of it. I found the only thing that helped me was taking remegel tablets but my the time I got to 9 months I'd had so many of them I didn't want to see another one! I can say though that almost as soon as I gave birth it stopped so hopefully that's something to look forward too

Avoiding trigger foods helps me a lot, with DS it was a lot worse. Eating earlier, eating bigger first and second meal and a light last meal (or a late big lunch and skip dinner!) help quite a bit. I still use antacids but at least with other measures they are actually effective.

Sometimes when it is rough, I stay up and wait it out. Sucks to miss sleep but it is better than making myself sick.

The only thing that helps mine is peppermint antacids, and Whole Milk... Whole milk takes the heartburn away within a few sips and lasts awhile. I live off sipping milk slowly (about 2 1/2 glasses a day) my heartburn gets so bad that it makes me sick, it worries the crap out of me but my doc says its fine. So far milk has done wonders ever since I got heartburn as a symptom.

Thanks girls, it's eased up a little today, at least for a few hours.

I read online that peppermint tea can trigger heartburn as it relaxes the muscles in the stomach. I've been downing buckets of the stuff as it really helps me with nausea, so maybe it's time to lay off it for a bit.

Are rennie antacids safe to take? :) I'm going to talk to my midwife on Wednesday and ask her for her opinion too. I hope that you all feel okay today.

You can actually get gaviscon on prescription, which although disgusting, really does help. This is my third heartburn filled pregnancy, mind you its started much earlier this time, and I now just drink it out of the bottle. Perfectly safe. Here's to lots of hairy babies!!
