I really don't want to stop breastfeeding but i have a a bladder condition and in order for my bladder to get better i have to take medication which is not safe to take when breastfeeding. If i was in minor pain i wouldn't take them, but there are days when i can't even walk due to bladder spasms...so i guess i have to give it up :( Really, really sad because my son and i love breastfeeding and it's our special bond. It's going to be so hard to do. Could anyone give me advice please?

almost 18 months going strong!

:cry::cry::cry::cry:

i am so sorry about your condition and being forced to stop bf. I dont have too much advice but i just wanted to say, 18 months?! wow! you have done so so good! you have given your son the best start that you possibly could, you should be proud, don't ever forget that you are a wonderful momma.

18 months is amazing! You should be so so proud of yourself! Xx

Thanks guys. I was going to feed up until he was around 2 years old, but i guess things don't always work out as planned. Carli where did you get your HG button from? I too had HG in pregnancy.

I have no advice, but just wanted to say if you give up now, thats just fine. 18 months is AMAZING!

No advice on giving up, but before you do, it might be worth checking the medication definitely isn't safe, as doctors sometimes give a blanket 'No' to be on the safe side. La Leche League often have good information about this, there's a bit of information here. If it turns out it really isn't safe, then congratulations on the great start you've given your LO!

Thanks guys. I am trying to find alternatives to medicine so that i can carry on. My little dude is not ready to stop yet.
