Hello ladies! I have a question. What UK store brand HPTs would you recommend? I've been using First Response but they're just too expensive for regular use, and I don't really trust the IC strips anymore. I thought about getting store's own brand tests but I'm not sure which ones might be better than others. Has anyone had good (or bad) experiences from Boots, Asda, Tesco and the like? Thanks! :flower:

Hey there,

I used ASDA strips last month when I ran out of IC's and they were good. They're not the cheapest - I think around £7 for 7 tests.

Cheers

Ummm sorry that's the price for OPKs! *grin*

I heard good things about Superdrug tests:flower:

Ditto, I've always tested after oopsies on Supedrug tests in the past and they are reportedly pretty sensitive.

Thanks for the advice, everyone! I'll give the Superdrug tests a try. In all I've probably spent over £30 on tests this month--more than that if you could the OPK tests I bought! They say babies are expensive but I never realised they would cost so much before they even came to be. :dohh:

I didn't realise they did OPK tests. Are they good? I bought a Clear Blue digi this month but I don't think I'd want to spend that much every time.

The ASDA OPKs are really good - I had better luck with them than the ICs :)

Their hpts are about £3 - £4 for a double pack (handy if you're in the supermarket anyway)

:)

Are the Superdrug ones pink dye?

I think they are - trying to remember now! I have bought way too many hpts over the last few months!

i used asdas and they were fab but have heard great things about the superdrug tests! :)

Yh they r but I got eveps on mine within the time frame so do b careful x

I have always used superdrug ones and they have worked wonderfully for me. They have picked up positives 10dpo in the past :)
Boots are ok too- but they are the blue dye ones which I have heard are susceptible to evap lines.
Never had Evaps on Superdrugs so far :)

Cool! I'll check them out next time I'm in Asda.

I've used Boots brand before but there was so much dye on the test it was hard to read. The blue ones are much worse for that, I've noticed. Superdrug seems to be getting everyone's thumbs-up so I'll have a look at them! Thanks everyone! :flower:

Thanks for this thread cause I was wondering about this too. I can't get to our superdrug very often as its in the town centre and I don't drive but I do shop in asda...I was wondering what people think to the tesco preg tests too? X

Il b usin tesco tests this cycle I think there 3.80 for a twin pack xx

I've used them as well - but can't speak about their accuracy as I'm still waiting on the elusive BFP!

:)
