Hello, i was just diagnosed with this, i am just curious as to anyone who has experienced this and what happened. When i asked about it in the first trimester and second trimester boards i was reassured by a few different girls who had that happen and their pregnancies are now fine. For those who don't know its a blood clot near the placenta. My doctor told me mine was small so im hoping it resolves itself SOON! thanks:)

oh and i was reassured that the babies heartbeat and yolk sac looked perfect!

Hi Hun I have one too! It's also only small and undernieth the baby so hospital arnt worried but I have been bleeding like mad non stop actually since 5 weeks I have lost my sore bbs this week but have gained extreme ms so I am hoping thaty little bean is still doing ok in there I wish I had a us machine so I could check on him/her everyday lol anyway try not too worry too much they are quite common xxxx

HI. I've just been diagnosed with this as well. Have been bleeding the entire pregnancy but this weekend I passed some huge clots and had painful cramps. Thought it was over but an ultrasound the next day showed a happy and healthy baby. I'm not sure how severe my case is. I'm seeing my obstetrician next week so I hope to get some more answers.

Hey chick I too got SCH three small ones outside the womb I found out at an early pregnancy scan (6 weeks) I've had no bleeding yet i'm now 10 weeks & 6 days pregnant. . . Although I've had small amounts of "Brown Discharge" so I don't know if it's coming out normally they absorb back in to the body. x x x

Hello ladies....
SCH are very common and I had one with this pg, researching it I now know I had one with two of my other pg's. With this baby I had a scant pink bleed around 5w and a brown bleed at 6w only when I wiped. I had my 8w scan and nothing was mentioned but at my 12w scan the dr called me to tell me I had a SCH. He said it was small and was surprised I had not had a bigger bleed. I am high risk due to a tubal reversal so thats why all the scans. I had a gender scan at 20w and the hematoma is re-absorbed.

As for the past pg's, I know I had SCH with two of my boys. (I have three boys from a previous marriage and we are now expecting a 4th boy..lol) With my first boy I had a bleed at 6 weeks and due to living in a small town I had to wait a week for a scan. Baby was fine and there was no sign of any issues. I then had a HUGE bleed at 12 weeks...clots and all. Thought for sure I lost him and so did the Dr's due to the large bleed. Even though my cervix was closed when examined.
I had no bleeding with my second boy.
I had a huge bleed with my 3rd boy at the grocery store (down to my feet) Went to hosp and cervix was closed but Dr said I would prob mc. Had a scan about 4 days later and baby was fine.
Just want to let all u know that it is very common and is rarely an issue!! Good luck ladies and wishing u healthy pg's.

Thanks! I needed to hear that! There is some history of bleeding in my family...on both sides (particularly the first pregnancy after a miscarriage) and it seems that sch was what my grandmothers were suffering from as they were better by about 20 weeks or so. My mom had bleeding too but that ended up being placenta previa.

I still don't know the extent of the actual hemotoma. The first ultrasound at 5 weeks showed a lesion 1cm long but the next two didn't detect the lesion. However, the last ultrasound is what confirmed there was bleeding. The nurse showed me a sac of fluids that was nearly as big as the baby's sac.

The bleeding has gone down alot since my huge clotting episode and is for the most brown but sometimes it still has a reddish hue though it has yet to be bright red or maroon (crossing fingers. every time I celebrate the bleeding going down it comes back with a vengeance)

It's scary and makes u worry a ton but even when I found out about this pg and the SCH, I posted a thread and had alot of replies from ladies further along than me with bleeds as well.
Just something that happens.....watch ur lifting, I still watch it and a great excuse for getting out of snow shoveling. HA

Hi ladies well I was diagnosed with a hematoma at a early scan just over 6 weeks, I have bled non stop since 5 weeks but so far this week I have had no bleeding at all, all I have now is brown cm could this mean the hematoma has finally gone and I can start enjoying my pregnancy? I really hope so as I only plan on having one baby and would really like to make the most of this pregnancy, xxxxx

Does anyone have a link to that other thread? I would like to read some more success stories.

Here is the link to the thread I started at 12w. I have kept in contact with one of the ladies and she has had another bleed since and all is great with baby. She is now about 18w.

I am sure if u look back a few pages u will find others who posted on the same issue and rarely do u hear of complications!! It's truly a common condition.....good luck!!!
