Such a high and now such a low! Perfect scan and now threatened miscarriage!

Went for an emerge scan yesterday as I had some brown spotting over the last week. Was so relieved and over the moon to see a little heartbeat and just started to believe that this time everything might be ok.
Woke up at 3am this morning with severe cramping and losing lots of red blood (clotting) Went on to a&e and basically the Dr has said this sounds like a "threatened miscarriage" I have been advised to come home and see how the nxt 24-48hrs go. Im now booked in for another scan nxt Wed providing everything goes ok until then.
I'm so devastated

yea sounds like a gd plan, yea today went well i hav put a pic up of lil pip.
just wish i could make everything ok for u.. i hate the worry.. don't do anthing rest up and get ur man to run around for u hand and foot! x

Don't let the term "threatened miscarriage" scare you too much - it just means you're bleeding. It's an outdated term, really and it doesn't at all mean you're about to lose the baby.

hopefully its just everything growing and changing for lil baby thats causing the bleed. loads of woman bleed in pregnancy and ther eisn't any real reason why.. did u hav a internal scan yesterday?? mayb they made ur cervix cheesed off.. just an idea.. hope everything goes ok.. keep me up dated xx

As Misslaww says the term threatened miscarriage is used to describe any bleeding in the first 24 weeks of pregnancy.

It doesn't mean you are going to lose your baby.

I will keep everything crossed for you xx

Hi chick, still bleeding pain seems to have eased a little ( just taking paracetomol) They've moved my scan to Monday now so just waiting til then xx

I have had 2 losses and with my son I had fairly significant bleeding and was told the same.... i was put onto bedrest for a week with a 'threatened miscarriage' and thankfully all was well. As someone else said its a very out dated term these days for bleeding... hope everything turns out ok for you. I know exactly what your feeling right now.
