I use Sudocrem on both my girls when they get diaper rashes. Lately, I haven't used it and it was on the stand underneath the tv which I thought my toddler couldn't reach. I went to the bathroom and when I came back, my toddler was sitting on the floor wiping the sudocrem all over the floor and her legs. Then I looked at my 7 month old and saw that she had some on her hands and face!! I looked in her mouth but couldn't tell if she actually ate any! I'm livid!! This was all in 2 minutes that I needed to use the bathroom. Now I'm freaking out as I'm not sure if she ate any or if it will harm her! Anyone have experience with this?

Mine has dipped her fingers in the pot many times and has definitely managed to get some in her mouth more than once. She's never seemed affected by it.

Like any product, in a large quantity it probably wouldn't be the greatest thing to eat, but would likely make the cheeky eater vomit before it could do any harm. There are no serious toxicity warnings on the label - bleach/household cleaner would obviously be a serious concern, and are labelled as such, but something like Sudocrem, especially in a small quantity isn't likely to be an issue I don't think.

If she has eaten some, she certainly won't be the first, or the last!

At least one of mine has eaten sudocreme previously...think they only did it the once as it was revolting but they were fine.

I think it's fine, it seems to be a parental rite of passage to have the Sudocrem explosion at least once :-)

Knowing this I don't think they could make it that harmful.
