We were told to go in for our scheduled induction today at 9am. Got to the hospital and it looked pretty busy but they seemed to be getting through the ladies quite quick.....wrong!

After 6 whole hours of waiting around we finally get told that they are too busy and don't have enough beds or staff to deal with me today :( Was told to go home and come back at 8am tomorrow where they will 'try' to make me priority.

I had to pester the midwife to find out what was happening as during the whole 6 hour period we weren't told anything apart from that they were having a meeting. at least the dr that eventually came and explained was genuinely apologetic and has tried his best to find us a bed. Being priority tomorrow will hopefully mean we are seen asap. These things happen I suppose and if I were one of the women in full blown labour but was turned away over a induction that could wait a day then I would be pissed....so fair is fair but its annoying that we seem to have been forgotten about until we chased them up.

I'm having the induction due to having M.E and needing to pace and rest as much as possible so waiting around in a noisy bright hospital all day isn't ideal at all and im consequently headachy and knackered so am heading to bed in a mo. Plus OH has now wasted a days paternity leave and MIL has had to look after Izzi unnecessarily. Fingers crossed that we do actually get seen promptly as the induction is likely to be a long process as it is *rant over* lol

Oh sad I understand :( dang ladies all going into labor at once! Hope tomorrow goes better for you hun *hugs*

That sucks! Similar thing happened to me with the c-section I had scheduled with my son. I kept getting pushed back and pushed back until I was told they'd try tomorrow. At least they kept me in the loop every few hours though.

Get some rest and good luck tomorrow!

So sorry for your miserable day! Ive just been scheduled to be induced on Sunday at 7pm and my doctor told me to call an hour before to make sure they have a room ready so that if it's super busy and they push me back a few hours I don't have to wait at the hospital.

The hospital I was staying in were so busy all the time, one weekend there were 100 baby's and 47 in the neonatal unit and only normally house 44 in that unit. They were flying woman out with pre term labour and turning woman down that were booked to be induced

That's so frustrating! A similar thing happened to me with ds1- we waited all day for a scheduled ECV at hospital then were told after hours and hours of being passed from pillar to post that the specialist was not available that day (!???!) ... We went back the next day at 9am, waited again all day until the specialist came in, spent five minutes talking to us and said baby was not going to be turned (after putting his hand on my bump for literally only a few seconds) and said I should have a c-section. Ds1 was born at 18.26 that same day without any prior warning of c-section.... Talk about bamboozled!!!!

Frustrating but it's better than not getting the quality of care you need due to staff being over stretched, just one of those things unfortunately xx

Oh sucks. I was induced with my son. It was booked for 13 days passed my due date, I was told to ring that day at a certain time to make sure they had a bed for me, I was then asked to ring back 6 more times during the day as they were too busy. I waited all day until finally at nearly 9pm she said call back tomorrow! I was so fed up. I got taken in the next day though and finally had my lo at term+15. It's not their fault but its so annoying. Good luck for tomorrow, hope you get lots of rest. I

My hospital has an INDUCTION Floor, LABOR floor and RECOVERY floor. I am being induced Monday. Sorry they pushed you back.

The delivery floor will still impact on what happens in the induction process. If they're full in delivery they can't induce women!

Hope you get your induction today! Good luck.

Off topic: we got married on the same day! :)

Think I'd prefer a bed, myself. Floors are a bit hard......

Sorry, couldn't resist that one. :flower:
