Hi Everyone, I'm just wondering who gets this? I'm claming ESA at the moment (a sick benefit) but havent had the decision whether it's income based ESA or Contribution Based (they either pay £53 or £100 and something) I have been told I can get a SSMG if I have income based ESA but if I have conribution based ESA I wont get it.

do people on jobseekers allowance get it??

You do get it if you're on JSA yes. You will also qualify after the baby is born is you get the highest rate of Child Tax Credit

I'm pretty annoyed about that then... I might aswell go on JSA if they decide I will have contribution based ESA!! that's £500 I could really do with, I lost my job after being on the sick since 8 weeks and have worked since I was 13. if JSA claimers can get it why cant I

I thought they had done away with the SSMG or was it the £190 that everyone gets that they got rid of?

if you don't qualify now you can apply after the baby is born

yeah you'll get it after babies born as you'll be on the highest rate of CTC x
