sweep on friday

im having a sweep on friday does but want to try and bring him on before then any ideas?

also how long after a sweep does it take to go into labour?

I've one on Wednesday, with DS I had one and it didn't work - he was 6 days late. Try to keep active - the day I went into labour with DS we'd had a long walk - could just be coincidence though! Good luck!

I had 3 sweeps and still ended up being induced. I also tried long walks, hot baths, pineapple, hot curries, sex.....

I think it all depends on whether LO is ready to make an appearance. If so the sweep will work, if not you might have to send in the eviction notice lol!

I am having membrane sweep at 3pm today, I have been praying it works because I am already 4 days over. I have been having irregular tightening and cotractions for at least 4 weeks and every day when they are slightly regular I get my hopes up. My friend was due next week but due to breach baby had Olivia yesterday. I love my friend and im so happy for her but when i found out the baby was born I was so jealous I just cried quietly but uncontrollablly....damn hormones.

So yeah I hope It works, will let you know if midwife says it is succesful later.

I had a sweep at 41 weeks with my 1st and midwife said to have sex that night and that things would get moving, so we did and she was right i was in labour the next morning! But beforehand try to be as active as possible, walking, bouncing on birth ball, , evening primrose oil as this will help to soften your cervix! hope things get going for you soon

i had a sweep this morning she said could feel babys head and i was 1-2cm dialated so fingers crossed it will work dtd last night we will do it again 2nite if that will help, xx

I have spent the last 20 mins in bits cos the horrid midwife wouldnt do it and moaned about the appointment even being made so made me one for fri. Then after i told her how weepy id been she started saying it wont be here before friday and doubts i will have it before induction day which will be next wed! So that really got me going. God damn woman.
So no sweep for me... oh the fury!

aww thats terrible, well u never know u might go into labor before then, just wanted to say i had heard loads of storys thats sweeps are really sore, i never found this sore atol it was uncomfortable tho kind of like a smear xx

All mine were like that too, didn't hurt just a bit uncomfortable xx
