We're been taking Jacob swimming since he was tiny...but only ever really help him whilst we've been in the water. Think he's getting a bit fed up with that and tbh it limits us...especially when it's just the 2 of us! So what do you use to take your toddler swimming?

Never been overly keen on armbands, but willing to try...or was thinking about one of them little suits that have floats in? Any ideas?! :S x

We have this issue too!

Reuben loves swimming, but gets frustrated just holding onto us and tries to push away from us and swim!

He used to have one of those rubber rings with a seat in when he was younger, but has outgrown that now.

I was thinking of getting one of those float jackets - however, cant find them for his age - youngest size is 2-3, so i thought maybe they were not reccommended before 2?

The only thing that might help - do you have a swimming pool that shelves off (like the sea) We travel half an hour purposley so that we go to a pool like this, it has a few baby slides too, and cos the water goes to nothing, we can sit at the water edge, with it lapping on us (they have a wave machine!) and also he can walk in the water in the shallow bit

HTH!

I don't usually like the arm floats but Hayden loves his and does really well with them. He jumps into the water and swims all over, fully independent. We went to a water park this past weekend and they have a little 'river' that pushes you in a certain direction and even in there he was just fine, swimming and having a great time

at the swim class we go to we use a variety of equipment to help them float on their own: life jackets, float boards, noodles pretty much everything

we use an inflatable ring.

Armbands didnt work for us as lo uses her arms to swim and they limit her movement
life jackets were too big for her ag and forced her facefirst into the water rather than helped her float
Never tried the all in ones.

Shes brilliant with her ring an easil do a few lengths of the pool on her own. Without it though she still sinks like a brick. Swims forward, just not above the water lol
