    Hi ladies,

So I gave birth on Saturday night, had epidural (which didn't work and spinal block for emergency forcep delivery). I have developed swollen ankles over the last couple of days. One moreso than the other. Told M/W when she visited on Tues and she did some feeling around and stretching my calf and wasn't too concerned and just said it was quite common and just put it down to oedema.

Did anyone else develop swollen ankles after pregnancy. Bloody typical, they've been fine for the 9 months prior!!! xx

After my C-section, I swelled up like a balloon. I think swelling is normal after. It should go away in a week or so.

yupp, exactly the same, no swelling until after birth. My mw advised me to keep my feet elevated (foot stool with a cushion) and do exercises as you would on a plane, circling your ankles. I took the advice and they'd settled down in about 2/3 days :hugs:

My right foot and ankle were huge for about 2 weeks after birth! My MW said it was totally normal as I had a spinal block to have surgery to get stitches after birth.:hugs:
