I've woken up with swollen hands, they're very fat n sore.
Is this normal lol?? xx

Not had this hun, maybe give MW a ring to see. Hope you are OK xx :hugs:

I don't have a num for the mw. I rang my docs n she wouldn't give me a num just said ring the hosp :/ xx

At 37 weeks, yea it's probably just fluid retention and nothing to worry about.

I've had MASSIVE swollen hands for weeks now, and a touch of carpal tunnel as well :(

However, swollen hands can also be a warning sign for pre-eclampsia, so it's worth getting your blood pressure checked to be on the safe side. I have a home testing kit so I know that my blood pressure is fine.

Hope this helps.

Laura x

my blood pressure is always low lol. But i see the midwife next tues so i'll just ask her then. Its stupid that i don't have a number for her tho :( x

my midwife said if my hands and feet swell during the day but go down during the night and are fine in the morning then that's perfectly normal.

The fact that you've woke up with them like this, I would just go get checked out - there's no harm in checking.

I don't want to worry you, just passing on the advice of my MW

Get it checked out, you and your baby are too important to be too careful, gl with rest of pregnancy x

Is the number not on your green notes?? i dont have a num for my midwife but on my green notes i have a num for community midwife office, day unit and delivery suite and i usually call 1 of them and just speak to a midwife there!!

I have had swollen hands and MW has said that its just fluid retention, as said above though you should be getting your BP checked so that they can rule out other problems!!

my hands have swollen a lot this week too they look like fat sausages! I also have carpal tunnel so am used to them being swollen but they have increased in size. I've not worried too much as i'm seeing the midwife tomorrow but if i wasn't i'd make sure i could see someone soon. I can't believe you don't have a number for your midwife how strange! Do you have a children's centre you can call to get her number?

Right ok. Thanks ladies it was just strange to wake up and them be like that. I shall let you know what happens. Thanks xxx
