swollen /tight vagina???

hi im 41 weeks i havent had sex since i was around 20 weeks so ive had no need to really notice the inside of my vagina... well as im 41 weeks and still no baby and a high cervix i thought i would try inserting a evening primrose capsule but qhen i tried my vagina felt swollen and tight that i could just about get a fingertip in and anymore really really hurt is this normal? how the hell am i supose to get a baby out of there? me and my partner were going to try sex to see if we could get baby moving but sod that now lol
