swollen /tight vagina???

hi im 41+1weeks and i havent had sex since i was around 20 weeks so ive had no need to notice the inside of my vagina. as im 41 weeks and my midwife said my cervix was high i thought id try inserting a evening primrose capsule but when i tried i could only get in a fingertip and anymore really really hurt is this normal? how the hell am i ment to get a baby out of there when my midwife tried to reach my cervix it was soooo painful i was in agony me and my partner where gonna try sex to get things going but sod that now lol

You can still have sex, if it's comfortable for you, after using lots of lube and starting out slow. My vagina has been tight and swollen for some time now. OH and I just start off slow.

As far as how a baby is supposed to get through...I don't know as my pelvis is too narrow to pass a baby through. I do know the body is amazing.
