I was hoping to book a holiday away skiing in March but if baby comes on due date she will only be 6 weeks old. I'm hoping my husband will take care of the children whilst I ski for a couple of hours a day. So even though I'm breast feeding I should be able to express enough milk by then to be able to leave for a couple of hours a day. I'm just worried I'm being too ambitious?? I had my son in April so by the time he was 6 weeks old it was summer and it was really hot that year. I don't know what its like looking after a baby in the cold. Obviously people live in the mountains and have babies so not worried she would freeze or anything, and I was certainly recovered enough by 6 weeks after the birth, by 2 weeks I could walk normally again lol.

What do you think? am I crazy? shall I just have a nice summer holiday and leave the skiing til next year? x

imo i would wait , IF your baby comes on time she will be 6 weeks , if she doesnt she could only be a month old , i know for me i couldnt have gone skiing after 4-6 weeks .

you may recover quickly but you may not you cant really predict that. i would wait until after the birth and see how things go you could book a last minute deal surely or go later on in the year ?

You do what you feel up to. I am sure baby will be fine, but you might not be up to skiing if she is late, and if you have paid all that money for skiing and it goes to waste, you might be wishing you had postponed it.

I would wait too, not to be awful but say for example baby comes 2 weeks over your due date and you needed a c section, there's no way you would be recovered. Hope that didn't come across mean but there's always a possibility x

I personally would wait and see as you never know how your gonna feel..

Agree with hotpinkangel - it's unlikely this would happen, but sods law dictates that you'd spend all that money booking a holiday and then not be able to enjoy it.

Maybe book a cheap short break somewhere to tide you over, and book the more active and energetic ski holiday for when there's no doubt you'll be able to get involved?
