Taking Clomid on different days, different results?

Does anyone know about why doctors prescribe Clomid on different days? My doctor had me on CD3-7, this month he had me do CD2-6. I read that CD2-6 you're more likely to conceive because the earlier you take it, the more follicles will be released giving a better chance of conception, and taking it later will give you less follicles but seemingly better quality? I can't imagine one day would make THAT much of a difference but who knows. Who takes Clomid, and what days are you supposed to take it?

I've honestly never heard of 2-6 with clomid.

I'd always done either 5-9 or 3-7, and 3-7 always seemed to work a little better for me.
