For OH's low sperm count.

The doctor basically said it's crap but OH doesn't want to go straight to IVF.
Anyone have any experience?

I don't want to read and run- however, I have never heard of this....sounds interesting

I WISH YOU ALL THE LUCK!!!!!!

I'd be interested in hearing any stories as well since I've been offered this. Did he say why he didn't like it?

Why who didn't like it? The doctor? He said that there was "only a trickle of people get pregnant on it" and that it's not very effective.

I've had a mooch on google, it was tested on monkeys and it made them infertile :dohh: it can also have a detrimental effect on a mans sperm quality.

I found a few reports that said that it did indeed increase testostrone (sp?) and sperm count but not rates of pregnancy . . .

Annnnd some reports that used placebos found not significant difference between the tamoxifen and the control groups :(

Oh my! I didn't find any of that, I must not be doing the right searches! I was told that it could help me since I haven't had any luck with clomid.

Oh no, the tamoxifen we are getting is for my OH not me!!
It is probably very different for men and women :flow:

EDIT: I'm gona change my first post! :haha:

DH was on this before IVF and it didn't make a single bit of difference to his SC... neither did the op for a variocele... ICSI was the only way to go for us but when EC came, wouldn't you know it, DH's count had gone up from 2million to 39million... two years after taking Tamoxifen.
