Not sure as I get the CTC & OH gets WTC, it all goes into my account as we fluffed up the form. I remember they sent me the form and both of the amounts I would be recieving was on there.

Do you or your OH work? You should get something if one of you works more than 16 hours a week. Mine was worked out all together x

You can only get CTC or WTC, not both.. unless your partner is working 16 hours + and does a joint claim with you. x

    ahh thankyou!
i didnt know you could earn too much
    that might be it then
    our joint earnings were 21k

ive heard you can ring and get it adjusted to this years estimated earnings? which will be pretty low as OHs wage isnt very high. is that right?

Me & OH's joint income was £7,000 and we get £79.00 WTC & £59.00 CTC a week as we're quite low down, and I know the higher the income the less the moneys is. I think you earn over 20k a year your not entitled to WTC and if you are entitled it's like pennies.
No I don't think you can get it adjusted to this years estimated earnings, :nope:.

Really? I thought there was a cut off point. Wait doesn't one of you need to be 25 or over to get WTC? I know that's a rule?

No, I think that rule only applies if you are a childless couple.
My sister & OH tried applying and they couldn't as they were under 25 and had no child.

Working Tax Credit is for people who are employed or self-employed (either on their own or in a partnership), who

    * usually work 16 hours or more a week
    * are paid for that work, and
    * expect to work for at least 4 weeks

    and who are

    * aged 16 or over and responsible for at least one child, or
    * aged 16 or over and disabled, or
    * aged 25 or over and usually work at least 30 hours a week
    * aged 50 or over must have been unemployed and in receipt of benefits for 6 months leading up to the claim and work 16 hours per week or more
    * aged 60 or over and work 16 hours per week or more

Yeah everyone with a baby will get it, as long as one of you works over 16 hours pw.

I didn't get WTC when I was on maternity as our joint income was too high (£19K)

But yeah you can ring and get it adjusted based on this years earnings if they are lower x

I get both WTC and CTC cause im on a low income and working 25 hrs a week. I got CTC paid in this week no WTC but they are still processing my claim so god knows... It probably gets paid in like on the same day but two seperate payments. They said I will get about 70 WTC and 60 CTC per week!
