My LO has her two bottom teeth and her top two teeth just poking through.
As soon as her first tooth had cut i started brushing her teeth but now its such a nightmare to actually get at her teeth.

As soon as the brush goes in she's sucking the toothpaste off the brush and poking her tongue out over her bottom teeth so i cant get to them.

She get really frustrated with me trying to brush her bottom teeth but im noticing now that they are a little bit yellow at the bottom of the tooth.

Does anyone have any good tips as i obviously dont want to leave it as it is.

thanks

have you tried the brushes that go on your finger?

or give her a training toothbrush while you are brushing her teeth. :)

Just keep exposing her to it without being too forceful. She may only get a few seconds in, but over time she will get used to it! Tooth brushing gets much easier. My son also didn't have teeth until 1 so he wasn't used to me poking around in there. It took several months to get him to where he wasn't fighting us. xx

To begin with i gave him a small one to play with and he used to chew it but it got him used to the sensation, then around 18 months he got a bit difficult and decidedd he didnt like it so i got him an electric toothbrush and he loves that so much, he will brush his own teeth now

Like raven24 we gave dd a toothbrush to play with. I just chucked it in with all her toys & when I saw her put it in her mouth I started singing "this is the way we brush our teeth". She's only had her bottom two teeth for about a mth but she loves the singing & thinks brushing her teeth is hilarious! :flow:

I've done basically what others have said.... as soon as my son's teeth started coming in (he got his first TWO when he was 6 mos to the day :) ) I gave him a toothbrush to play with. I had one in with his toys and one I would give him to play with in the tub. at that point, I just used a wet washcloth and use my finger to get his teeth and gums clean. But by the time he turned one, he had 8 teeth, 4 on top and 4 on bottom so when he was about 8 mos I would give him his tooth brush to hold/play with while I brushed my teeth so he could see me do it. I did that for about 2 weeks then I started to hold him and brush them for him. He fought me for awhile and still does now and then, but I think it has worked out ok. HTH :flower:

Just keep at it, my lo still hates her teeth brushing now i tell her ''tinkerbell said so'' and that tinkerbell will check her teeth are clean of sugar when shes sleeping, seems to work lol.
