LO is 2 months old today. For a week or so she's been drooling a lot, trying to chew her fists, grumpier than usual. Fussing at the boob. I tried massaging her gums and she absolutely loves it, like it's giving her relief, she stops crying when I do it. All of which makes me think teething symptoms but isn't it waaay early? I can't feel any tooth bud through her gum

Not too early, even thou on average it starts around 6 months ish, some babies don't cut a tooth until 12+ months and others may even be born with a tooth. Also sometimes babies have calcium deposits (just leftover calcium from forming the teeth) rise up in the gums which can cause the same symptoms as teething. My DS1 has teething symptoms because of that from 3 months but cut his first teeth at 9.5 months!

Nope not to early. Dd had symptoms at 2 months and two teeth by 4 months. Ds is 3 months and is doing the same xxx

Thanks girls. It's really hard seeing her in pain with it while so little :/

Have at look at amber teething bracelets. At 2 months its hard to find things to help them as they can't have calpol/ibuprofen or are limited with teething granules. The teething bracelets are brilliant xxx

Afraid not! LO started getting symptoms on and off from around 8 weeks and got her first tooth at 5 months. Even now she teethes on and off for sometimes up to three months before one arrives - the joy!

Joy indeeed :haha: Im currently sat with a finger in LO's mouth

Yes, my DD started having teething symptoms at 8 weeks and cut her first tooth at 4.5 months. In fact, I'd say the drooling was at its worst from 2 - 4.5 months. Since then she has only drooled on and off.

Anbesol liquid is brilliant for teething. I tried every powder, gel, teething ring etc last time with my twins and only Anbesol liquid made a difference. I used it when I got my wisdom teeth too.

Its not too early, my 8 week old is also showing teething symptoms you can see on him is gums are white where the tooth is heading out.
