terrified i have breast cancer - advice please

Hey i looked up symptoms of mastitis and it doesnt seem to be that. One nipple hurts after feeding and appears to have dry skin on it and is a bit crusty. Im so scared, eally think its breast cancer. Anything else it could be?
Any advice/reassurance?

I don't want to downplay, as obviously getting early diagnosis is crucial, and worth getting checked out, but to me that sounds like you've got a sore nipple perhaps from a bad latch. I've had similar a few times. If you're worried, get it looked at though. Hope it's something simple that clears up soon.

That sounds like latch issues from bf'ing. You sound very worried so for your piece of mind please go see your doctor. That doesn't sound like breast cancer to me though. Nipples hurt off and on while you are bf'ing. You also could have Raynauds.

Honestly, the chances of having something malignant when you're lactating is very small. I found a huge lump in my boob at week 4. Long story short it was an abscess. I convinced myself I had cancer and the specialist actually chuckled slightly when I said I thought I had breast cancer. His words were "it can happen but it's very rare". Sounds like latching issues or possibly thrush? Could it also be a blister?
