Testing with long cycles.

My cycles have been around 40 days long so just wondering when I should test?

According to my app I'm 12dpo so I tested tonight (bfn ). But my af is not due for another 2 days if it's a 40 day cycle again. So is this still on the early side to test or should I assume I'm out?

as for testing, im a poas addict so im pretty bad at just testing whenever i want, and very early too. my first test i took was at 8 dpo and it was positive. i didnt think i was pregnant at all. but really, it all depends on when the baby implants because hcg wont be high enough for at least two days after the implantation begins. you're only out for the month if af arrives.
