My DH and I have been TTC for about 14 months, my OBGYN had me complete some blood tests (some for the second time) and they've all come back normal, again. I tested progesterone to confirm ovulation, plus TSH, FSH, prolactin, and estradiol. All were normal.

My cycles are abnormal however, my cycles go up and down frequently. one cycle it will be 45 days, the next 34, then back up to 44. It's a roller coaster. My dr agrees w me that it's not normal and signifies a hormonal imbalance but yet everything is normal! I'm so frustrated!

Has anyone else experienced this?? Btw my husbands sperm analysis was also normal. I've also had an ultrasound, it showed 2 small cysts and a slightly heart shaped uterus but my dr does not believe either would be causing my infertility.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has been told everything is normal but still experienced unexplained infertility? Anyone with abnormal cycles but yet hormones are normal?? Just trying to connect w others to find out if I'm missing something.

I am in a similar boat. There is nothing wrong with DH or I but I have regular cycles. I can not get pg naturally, only through IUI. When I get pg through IUI I can't keep it passed 6 weeks.

You mention hormonal imbalance and that makes me think of "yellow Maca". Try looking up yellow maca, it is supposed to help balance hormones.

You could also try IUI (if you haven't done so). With my clinic they monitor your cycle and can trigger you to O. This way they have full control of your cycle and you don't have to rely on mother nature.

I don't really know what to say but I want to say that you are not alone, we are also in the same situation. It's been over 3 1/2 years I have had every test possible including at HSG and a lap and everything has come back normal. I have regular cycles, I ovulate every month, uterus shape and lining is perfect, and my follicle size is normal. Hubby sperm came back great. Unfortunately some people just have a hard time conceiving for no reason. We are classified as unexplained infertility.

The best advice I can give is to seek specialized medical attention. See if you can get referred to a fertility specialist who will be able to perhaps do hormone therapy and monitored cycles in hopes to delve a little bit deeper and find out what is going on. I tried everything holistic under the sun over the last three years and although they are comforting I feel better being in the care of a doctor that I trust.

Wish you the best

Hi there! I'm sorry you've been going through this :(

With your cycles so irregular, are you able to ID when you are ovulating? I'm in a similar situation with you (but with regular periods). My tests all came back fine. I suspected some small hormone imbalances though and I went to a naturopath to do some more in depth testing. We found high cortisol levels and some other things slightly off that didn't show up in blood tests so I started some supplements prescribed by her to even things out. This is my first month doing that but I think it'll make a big difference.

As another poster mentioned, having your clinic monitor your cycle and doing the trigger shot could help too (that's our next step).

Best wishes to you on your journey! <3<3

Have they tested you for PCOS? The abnormal cycles and the length of your cyles (great than 35 days) can be a sign of pcos. I think they could test for insulin resistance and testosterone or other androgen levels. Your ovaries don't have to be poly cystic.
