As much as some of us don't want to complain or admit, the first trimester is hard. Maybe we can use this thread to open up about the things we weren't expecting or the things we forgot about from previous pregnancies. Or if you just want to get it out that it's harder than you let on.

I think I speak for most of us when I say that no matter how crazy and yucky and scared we are, it'll all be worth it in the end and we're grateful for every minute of it :cloud9:

I'll start!

I wasn't expecting: to be exhausted all day long but not be able to fall asleep at night.

I wasn't expecting: my nipples to be this itchy!

I wasn't expecting: to have body image issues this soon...

Can we keep the list going?

Headache all the time, nothing makes it go away, oh and the oil slick across my face blah!

I wasn't expecting my back acne which I had when I was a pubescent teenager to rear it's ugly head again :(

I wasn't expecting the greasy hair...!
Iwasn't expecting the spots ... I never had spots as a teenager but now it's like my face thinks its 15!!!

I expected some morning sickness but this has really kicked my ass! I feel like I'm suffering from the longest hangover ever!

my face is like one big spot... I feel sick all day & can't stomach proper food (just oranges & milk...) I'm exhausted but can't sleep at all & get up 30 times a night to pee!

The constant hunger pains & peeing oh the joys haha
Awesome thread :) happy baby growth all

To be buying maternity clothes at 11.5 weeks!! And the constant gagging at foods or smells I used to love!!

But I also didn't expect the overwhelming rush of love that makes me forget the constant lousy feeling any time I hear my baby's heartbeat or see my scan :cloud9:

I didn't expect to suffer with hyperemesis and had secretly hoped I'd be one of the lucky ladies that don't get morning sickness haha.

I didn't expect my hair to be so greasy, or to go completely off tea to the point of even thinking about having a mug makes me gag.

I didn't expect to be quite so irritable or short tempered! :haha:

I'm too short tempered grumpy :(

That mayo would look SO gross. Even husband can not make it in front of me. ketchup is going the same way. I think I have not had much issues compared to some, I am also fairly early. I have always been one to really listen to my body and I have had nausea often over the years where I barely touch food or only very certain things so I think I got trained a bit for this to be normal enough.

I'd be so so grumpy, tired and constipated! And just as worried as I was the first time but less excited :(

i have always had vivid dreams, but i definitely didnt expect for my dreams to become so WEIRD!!! i also didnt expect to be as sick as i am. BUT ill take it all if it means i get my little baby in 9 months. I absolutely can not wait!!!!

I didn't expect to have severe ms again, thought I'd be lucky and skip that symptom this time round. I didn't expect I'd be sitting in my sisters house laughing and crying at the same time because my hormones are going completely crazy! X

I agree about the body issues in the first trimester. I am 6 weeks along, and am so puffy and my lower belly is bloated. This is my first and I really didnt think I would see any different until 12 weeks...not the case! My hubby is supportive though.

I wasn't expecting: to MISS my baby in between ultrasounds. Only 2 more days until I get to see my baby again!

Don't forget the gas and constant passing of it :( so embarrassing when you don't feel it coming

I didn't expect the gas either! My poor husband is suffering. Also didn't expect not being hungry for anything. Also didn't think I'd be in maternity clothes at 12 weeks

Cristina my hubs used to be the gassy one not anymore LOL but hey they don't deal with the joys of making a baby they should at least suffer a little lol
Am constantly hungry but don't know for what I've been wearing maternity since 6.5 I know it's bloat but they are so so comfy can't stand to wear anything snug on my waist

I didn't expect to feel more sick than my first pregnancy and to go off cups of tea. That is a major downer for me!

To be so bloated and heartburn my stomach swells in the evening and goes hard.
