Hi Jenn, I, too, hope you get your way this month

I just wish I could get mine too!
Bit annoyed... have had a reply back from a job I applied to. It was for an "experienced conveyancer" and they were looking for candidates with 1 - 10 years experience. I have been working as a volunteer in the property department of a rather large charity for 10 months (a year by the time the job would start) doing, you guessed it, conveyancing. I have also got a distinction in property law and practice (i.e. conveyancing) from my LPC, which is at post-grad level. But they have said I do not have enough experience and will have to go for a trainee position instead... I find it quite pedantic to be perfectly honest. And am so naffed off that I am hitting brick walls for 2 different reasons that are essentially just different ends of the same scale - not enough experience at one end, and over-qualified at the other.
I have asked the consultant to put me forward for the trainee position, as it will be better than nothing, but am worried that the employer will come back and say I am over-qualified! I just can't win

And as for those that are worried that my "over-qualified-ness" means I will leave, how exactly do I tell them that this is not the case...? It would have to go something like, "Oh, I won't be leaving, don't you worry, because I need this job for at least the next 2 years so I can get pregnant in October." Although I know full well they cannot not employ because I may go and get pregnant, I can't see that going down too well as an explanation lol!
Another gripe with the trainee position - "salary negotiable" WTF does that mean in English??
How are you all today then? Sorry for yet another rant
