Has anyone tried this or a variation?

SPOILER WARNING!! IF YOU ENJOY THIS TEST, DO NOT PROCEED!! IF YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW IT WORKS, PROCEED.
**********************************************************

In my class, we have to study this very boring program called Thought Patterns for a Successful Career, by Lou Tice of The Pacific Institute. One afternoon, our instructor accidentally played the bonus material rather than the actual program. It just so happened that this bonus material explained the needle and thread test. I'm going to explain it, but if you're still an unbeliever, I invite you to try it. For the sake of consistency, I'll use necklace throughout the explanation.

1. Get a needle and thread, a wedding ring on a thread, or a necklace with the pendant hanging down.

2. Without speaking out loud and without moving your hands. Tell the necklace to stop. Wait a few seconds.

3. Once the necklace has stopped, without speaking out loud or moving your hand, tell the necklace to spin counterclockwise.

4. Once it has been spinning counterclockwise for a few minutes, tell it, without speaking out loud or moving your hand, to spin clockwise.

5. Once the necklace has been spinning clockwise for a few minutes, without speaking out loud or moving your hand, tell the necklace to swing back and forth.

6. If this works and you are interested in knowing how this works. Come back here, and I will explain why this works.

Interesting! Does it have to do with subconcious wanting something to happen in a certain way?

Possibly. I'll wait for more people to respond with interest before revealing how it works, lol. Keep you in suspense.

I have no clue :dohh::haha: but i'd like to know what its all about x

So I assume you ladies have taken these steps and tried it, or are curious first and then want to try it?

Haven't tried it yet, I know my Mum will want to once we tell her the good news, so I'd love to know. x

I wanna know because it could just blow the traditional old wives myth of swinging a needle over the belly to find out the sex of the child :)

Alright, here it is.

Even though you are not moving your hand, you have two types of matter in your brain, gray and white. Your white matter is what controls the signals to the rest of your body. So, even though you are telling your hand not to move, you are still sending a signal. Your signal is to the necklace..clockwise, counterclockwise, etc. The reason it works is because your mind still controls the signals to your fine motor movements in your fingers, so although you gross motor movements are "sleeping", your fine motor is still moving, thus still controlling the way you are telling the necklace to move.

If you tell the necklace to move counterclockwise but don't move your hand, your fine motor movements are still controlling the necklace to move counterclockwise.

Make sense?

Thank you! Makes absolute sense to me :) There goes the old wive's method. LOL

This is also why this test "works" when a woman is not pregnant.

my cousin did this test when she was pregnant and she had a little boy which is what the test predicted;-) she tried to tell me how to do it but couldn't remember it correctly. x

Ive done this test a few times and i get the same outcome everytime i do it =D so far it said girl girl boy girl girl for me =D
