Thick, clear discharge (TMI)

I just went for a wee, and when I wiped there was a dollop of thick clear/white discharge (TMI, sorry), not quite as big as a 1p coin.


WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS?! Was NOT expecting to see that, what is it doing there?! There was nothing else in it like blood etc, but a really stringy, thick blob of it

It possibly sounds like part of your mucus plug maybe... I am certainly no expert tho!

From what I've read on here I think I've lost part of my mucus plug twice. Did it look jelly like?

Get used to it hun... Don't be surprised if it happens many times.. Especially after a BM! It's nothing to fret over

Yeah looked more like part of a jelly - that can stop happening immediately, was nasty!!!

i would speak to ur midwife, coz if it is ur plug then u leave urself open to infection. my mother is the head of midwifery and supervisory of all midwives.. i would just ahav a chat wiv her to find out if that ok.. as that shouldn't come away til labour or just b4, gd luck x

This early on unless it is accompanied by cramps I wouldn't worry about it. You will likely see more of it It grows back unless you are dilating.

I phoned the trage unit and they said that unless there is more of it and it changes colour then it is ok

I've has this once or twice I didn't realise it could be part of the mucous plug, just thought I had somehow given birth to a small jelly!! I guess it can't have been anything too serious as I've had a scan since and all was fine

There was the tiniest bit there a minute ago and whilst I am not too concerned as he is still moving and ive found his heart (uh, majorly paranoid lol) I will ring the GP tomorrow and see what they say.

I have another MW appointment on Friday so ill make sure to tell her

I had the same thing happen last night - I think.

Basically I woke up in the middle of the night for a pee and noticed that the crotch of my knickers was really wet (I know what you are thinking but I was not even having an interesting dream).

This morning I rechecked the knickers to see if the wetness had left behind any white residue but there was none. There is still a dark stain on my knickers , but I dont know what the hell it was.

Omg, same thing hapened to me today!!! So I called a clinic up, they said I might be going into labor, so i should keep an eye on it.
So I am, I'm about 26weeks.

It could have been just discharge.. it changes alot throughout pregnancy.
It could have been part of your mucus plug, but the mucus plug will grow back if baby isn't ready to come out yet.

You CAN go into labour when you lose part of the plug, but it's not always true as the mucus plug can grow back if you lose it too early.
