hi all im around 5 weeks pregnant and yesterday eve i had quite strong cramps and some bright red blood that i lost wasnt a huge amount but wasnt just spotting havnt noticed any clots/tissue etc it lasted about an hour and now has stopped the cramps eased aswell but this morning have started again no more bleeding so far tho....got a scan booked 4 2 weeks as its too early to see anything, but i think its gone

I'm so sorry , that must be horrendously worrying for you. At five weeks it is generally too early to tell. Can you bring forward your scan a week perhaps?
If you think it's already over, you'll probably get a negative hpt before your next scan.
But lots of people do have some early bleeding and then find out everything is fine.

If it is a miscarriage at 5 weeks it won't be that much different to a period, perhaps a bit heavier. If that is what you are experiencing then it probably isn't good news. If it is less than that, you are still in with at least a 50/50 chance.

thx for replying no not like a period yet it stopped after about an hour but was mainly when i wiped and no bleeding so far after then, just period type pain they said that they can only fit me in a week on tues and cos im so early they need to make sure that they would be able to see something had a scan a week ago as the pain started then with no bleeding they could just see a small gestation sac then,, the wait is going to drive me mad! x

i also took a test this morning and it still shows a strong positive but will prob be too early for a neg if i have MC x

Don't worry too much...if you bled for a short whie with no clots or anything you maybe ok. I miscarried myself with a blighted ovum..the sack measured at 6 weeks and what came out of me (i apologize for being frank) was substantially large. And I bled massively for 22 days...it didnt stop..i know every pregnancy is different but with just a little blood you maybe ok. Give it time..have symptoms appeared for you yet? If so, have they disappeared? Keep hope, you maybe alright. I'm wishing you well i hope this helps

Don't lose hope hun! When I had a mc I was in early stages like you are, my test was negative the day I started bleeding. My bleeding carried on for around 6 days. So the fact it's stopped is a positive. Don't want to give you false hopes, just incase. But don't want you lose hope either. Good luck xx

I had a bleed at 8 weeks with my first pregnancy - my doctor told me to do a preg test in 5 days time and if it was positive i was still pregnant

I did the test and it was positive........... went for a scan at 12 weeks to find out that it had died at 6 weeks.

I am hoping this is not the case with you

I could have killed my doc for saying something so stupid and wish i had insisted on a scan

I've been having bleeding/spotting off and on since I got my BFP. Last week the bleeding got so dark and red I thought for sure I had lost it. The bleeding didn't last too long, and was just when I wiped, as you said. I spent 4 days crying, waiting for my scan. I had my scan on Tuesday and baby was measuring perfect and had a heartbeat. I am still cautious, but I am hopeful now. I've seen lots of other women mention that they bled off and on throughout their pregnancy and still had healthy babies. I hope this is the case for both of us.

When I was 4 weeks I had some red bleeding, in fact I thought it was AF. It was fairly minimal and stopped after a couple hours, I'm assuming it was implantation bleeding. Hopefully your baby is ok and you were just experiencing late implantation!
