When I was 15 weeks exactly, the doc did an u/s cuz of some pain i was having. He did the ultrasound and said it was round ligament and that there wasn't anything wrong. But then he scheduled me for the big anatomy scan for three weeks from then. The big one, but I'm only 18 weeks then. Usually I go every 4 weeks. Why'd he schedule me for three weeks? Do you think he saw something at 15 weeks that concerned him?? I'm scared. Hubby and I are taking our moms with us tomorrow for a gender scan, and I don't want them to be there if something is wrong. Am I over reacting??

maybe he is trying to even up the ultrasounds. 18 weeks instead of 19. I know my consultant did this so they were on even weeks. Makes more sense for delivery.

Alot of girls have their "20 week scan" at 18 weeks. So don't worry, if there was something wrong at your 15 week emergency scan, he would've told you.

Okay thanks! :) I have a high risk doctor from my son being premature and my blood perssure problems, so surely he would have said something other than, "looks good, everything is fine" if there really was a problem. Just being paranoid I guess!

I'm sure '20 week scans' can be done anytime from 18-22 weeks so don't worry :)

For all you know, he could have a vacation scheduled for the week after... I wouldn't worry. I would think he would have been clear with you if there were something to worry about--from a malpractice standpoint alone I don't think they keep things to themselves.

He would have told you if something was wrong.
I had a friend have her 20 week scan at 18 weeks

I had my first u/s at 8 weeks and that was to determine my due date and to let me know how many weeks I was. I see my OBGYN every 3 weeks and have since the begining(guess each Doc is different). I had my anatomy u/s at 17 weeks and 5 days.

I dont think you have anything to worry about.

Pretty sure it's normal to do the anatomy scan as early as 18 weeks, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I had my anatomy scan at 18 weeks. It can be done as early as 18 weeks. xx

I had my scan at 18 weeks & I have been going every 3 weeks since the beginning. I wonder if they are starting something new???

I do this every time I go to the doctor. i analyze what he says and find some way to think that there is something wrong. Honestly I think they would tell us if something was actually wrong, so I'm sure everything is fine! Good luck at your scan!

nothing wrong with my babies and I had my 20 week scan at 17 weeks 4 days, I wouldnt look too much into it

I had an appointment every four weeks, but for my last appointment it was scheduled at 3 weeks because I am moving to Korea (husband is army).

First of all I want to sympathise. I had post partum complications after both my children's births and I had some high risk complications with my last pregnancy and was monitored closely. I felt I had lost my innocence and sense of awe and wonder. I watched everything closely and took nothing for granted. I was more anxious than most, but I guess that is to be expected. I am sure it is all fine and routine and if they said everything looks fine trust them. If they were worried, they usually try to gently drop hints and tell you not to worry yet, but they will check again later (I have some experience of this like you now unfortunately). I had my morphology scan at 18.5 weeks and all was perfect then. My complications started later and were more to do with my body. My boy is perfect and 1 week old today.

I know it won't stop you worrying entirely, but I am pretty sure that is not an indicator that anything is wrong. Good luck at your next scan.

When I had my NT scan at 11 weeks, they scheduled my anatomy scan for 18 weeks. I wouldn't worry at all because it sounds normal. :)

Yep, mine is scheduled for 17+6, so basically 18 weeks. It's pretty normal. :)

I had my anatomy scan just the other day at 18+5. I would say everything is fine :)
