How are you feeling about giving birth the second time round? I had an awful time which ended in being rushed to theatre for a c-section but ended up with forceps delivery.

Was horrible and really scary, I was 14 days over so induced, also had back to back labour with a lip on my cervix.
All in all not a nice time.

Im PRAYING it does not happen this time round... prayyyyyying. :(

Hey cherryglitter, I remember you from last yr!!
My first labour was horrible, 21 hours in horrible pain they then decided to give me an epidural, babys heartbeat was dipping so they decided to cut me to get him out quicker. I lost 4 pints of blood and passed out. I was in hospital for 5 days :(
Second birth was much easier, 7 hours in labour with only gas and air, no cuts or tears :)
Third labour was even easier, laboured for 3 hours at home, got to the hospital and had him 15 mins later.
I know it's scary thinking ahead to birth but if you remember what it was like at the end of third tri, you can't wait for baby to come out and say hello :) (not to mention the discomfort of being the size of a house lol) your body remembers what to do second time round and should be much easier x x

lol thats true! i keep switching. i remember the pain of third tri so well and just wanting him OUT. i didnt care how he got out as long as he wasn't inside me any more lol!!

and all the feeling like they're popping out your pelvis every time you move. oh lovely, got it all to come again :dohh: haha!xx

Good Luck to you!
My labor with DD was rough too, it was the middle of the night, and there was NO doctor available so I had to try NOT to push which was hard because she was crowning but every time I did her heart beat dipped because the cord was around her neck. They ended up using forcepts and I tore... really badly, internally and externaly, thankfull it was NOT a 3rd degree tare! I lost a lot of blood and had to stay at the hospital for a 4 days... not fun.
My Doctor this time assured me that I the second labor is 9 x out of 10 easier and faster than the first... so I'm just praying that we don't have a repeat!

GL!

I'm glad I am not the only one with these fears! My first was an easy pregnancy, but a HARD delivery. I was induced 10 days early due to my BP being elevated and I don't think he was ready to come out! I pushed for 2.5 hrs and he went backwards. He ended up getting stuck (he was just shy of 9 lbs) and I had to have a forecep delivery. By that time my epidural had worn off and I felt everything! I am hoping this one is much easier.

seems like inductions do seem to end in assisted deliveries. it's strange isn't it.

Trying not to think too far ahead lmao. I had a planned c-section last time, whereas the recovery and pain was totally manageable. I didn't like the lead up to the section. Doctors were cold and heavy handed. Different hospital this time though so I'm going to think good thoughts haha.

Hello all! My name is Tasha, and I am currently 10 weeks 4 days pregnant with our second child. My daughter (Skyleigh) was born 08.08.08 :)

my labour with DD wasn't great... I was in labour for 28 hours, i was throwing up with EVERY contraction, gas and air was making me thirsty so i was drinking buckets of water, only to throw it up again, diamorphine was making me sicker, my baby heart rate was dropping so they cut me, i lost quite a bit of blood due to that, it's was nearly vontouse, but i pushed so god damn bloody hard!!!! lol :happydance:

Now when i think of my labour with my DD, I dread the sickness (i hate being sick!!!) and the tiredness, but not the pain?! As the second they gave me my beautiful Daughter, I seemed to accept all the other stuff and appreciate what it was for.:baby:

I'm hoping that this time round it'll be quicker and easier for me, and i'm hoping for no sickness (but will embrace it if i am!!), I think i will know what to do this time so won't be so scared either!

Dare i say it, but i'm kinda looking forward to it!! :happydance::happydance:

(i am only 6 weeks ladies, please remind me of this post when i am 39 weeks and crapping myself!!!!!):blush:

hi im v petite, size 8,i tgt id b hrz in labour bt boy waz it easier than wt i expectd! Had gas n air önly n u knw wt,i enjoyd dat feeln of excîtement az i waz pushn! Id do it agen any day!

I might be crazy, but I am REALLY looking forward to it! I was induced with my son, and it was the best experiance. I was expecting labor to be hard, and long, and stressful. MIne was fast, and easy (pushed through 2 contractions, 5 min total) and my total time in labor and delivery was only 9 hours.

The part that does worry me a little, is that my son was premature by 6 weeks. I didint get to hold him at first, or see him much at all untill he was 2 hours old. And even then, I had to wait till he was a week old to hold him. So Im really hoping that this baby can be in my arms from the start. It was so sad when they moved me to my perminant room, and they rolled the bassinet out. :( I lost it.

Hey ladies I am expecting my 2nd, its been a long time coming partly because I didn't want to go through what we went through with my first and because we have had trouble conceiving.

My first is 7 in Feb! I can't believe it and she is so healthy and beautiful, she was born 13 weeks early by emergency c-section. It is so stupid I had slipped down the stairs about a week earlier, so I guess its true about falling down stairs and bringing on labor.

Anyway I had been having horrible cramps on the afternoon she arrived, I rung my midwife and (this is why I will not be using her again) she said it was most likely nothing but if I started bleeding I was most likely having a miscarriage!!!! What do you know as soon as I put the phone down I started bleeding so we raced to the hospital and within about 2hours my girl was born weighing in at 995grams which I think is around 2 pounds. She spent 3 months in hospital and it was so hard.

I have been told any future baby's like the one I am growing now will also come early :( but here's hoping I can keep it in my belly for as long as poss

I just saw this post and I cannot agree more with you on not being able to hold your child! I was put under for my girls c-section and it wasn't till the next morning I was able to see her and it wasn't a week till I could hold her! It is honestly such a horrible experience not being able to pick up your child :(

Strangely I'm very excited and cant wait my labour and delivery wasnt nice last time with forceps and suction thingy lol just 30 weeks until i meet my baby :D xx

So silly question. I'm not so much worried about the Labor and Delivery part--I'm worried I'm not going to think my new baby is as cute as my first--anyone else thinking these thought : / ??

I have TOTALLY thought the same thing.
I had a GREAT labor, totally natural and a total of 5 hours... it was a breeze. Can't wait to experience it again (knock on wood)!

My labour was ok but I had to have a manual evacuation cos the placenta wouldn't come out. Hoping it doesn't happen again! x

On the one hand I have positive memories of my labour. On the other hand, I have awful memories of my labour :dohh: Roo was back to back, had meconium in her waters, and the cord ended up right up the side of her head, so she was suffering cord compression with each contraction and the cord almost prolapsed. She was a ventouse delivery, and because the registrar and midwife didn't expect me to be able to push effectively (long story), she was born really fast. I tore (second degree, which was stitched up badly) and Roo had to be resuscitated because with the shock of birth she wasn't breathing. I know things could have gone a lot "worse", but things could've gone better too.

There are lots of issues flying around which I don't really like going into on public boards, which make me quite worried at the prospect of labour again. I sway from on the one hand wanting to try hypnobirthing again, and on the other, considering an elective C-section :dohh: No conflict there, then

if i have another back to back labour i don't know what im going to do. probably jump out the window. it is THAT bad.

Similar for me - I went into labour naturally at 41 +2 and eventually had J at 41 + 4. I had been fully dilated for 6 hours and pushing for 3 before I was taken to theatre for a section but managed to get him out with foreceps and episotomy. I had an epidural and a spinal block. J turned back to back which was agony and he was 10lbs 14oz!!

If I had to do exactly the same I would but what I don't want is to go through all that and end up with a section. Maybe it will be easier this time, I hope so!

x
