Those past 36 weeks..especially USA ladies...no BH but still progress?

if your past 36 weeks....(especially USA ladies since I know the UK ladies dont get internals normally)....havent had BH...and have had dilation/effacement/engagement checks... were your progressed at all?

I havent had any BH that I know of...and am just worrying that nothing will be progressing..I know shes head down but thats all...

so can anyone offer me any hope? anyone else not have any BH but still had some progress at your checks?

I will be 37 weeks on Monday and I have not felt Braxton Hicks at all really. Doctor told me earlier this week that I havent dilated yet but I got checked today and doctor said I wont probably make it to 40 weeks because I had a baby already and he said my cervix is thinning. So who knows. But my situation is complicated even more as, I will probably have an induction due to LO has IUGR. Have you had any children before? I have heard that all woman get BH, but some feel and others dont. Try and not worry. With my first pregnancy I didnt feel any at all and I broke my water out of no where when I was 38 weeks pregnant. Labor can happen sponteous or be gradual. Depends on the pregnancy.

If this is baby #1 chances are you are not feeling the braxtons hicks. All women get them starting in the second trimester but most women do not feel them or find them painful unless they have had children before .... good luck and hope you progress just fine

I never felt any bh with my first, but still dilated to 3 at my 39 week check up just b/4 I had baby. I had them constantly with my second and never ended up dilating at all (just a 1) and had to be induced at 41 weeks. You never know. You could already be dilating well....

I think by definition BH are "non-productive"--they don't have any effect on the cervix. That's what makes them BH. So I wouldn't worry that it means you aren't progressing. It doesn't mean anything one way or the other.
